New Conference question

ok, so the big turdeast is crumbling. I understand the boise and sdsu presidents are saying they are still committed... but looking around at their fanbases, its looking like a forest fire of lost interest. Im not completely up to speed with what the mwc can offer them if the return "RIGHT NOW&...

Re: Football Identity Crisis

wyovanian your right, and by the way... love your posts on the mwc board! i dig how you fire up the masses on there. im not trying to argue that he doesn't have pitfalls. its the problem with hiring coordinators to be head coaches. they can learn to be an executive officer, but usually the first 5 y...

Football Identity Crisis

there sure is a large gap of opinions on this board about how we should run this program. luckily, none of us have any real say (myself included), or responsibility of actions in support of this program. There may be some posters here that are boosters or cowboy joe club members, but really we are j...

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels

Be safe traveling, lots of snow in high elevations in the pacific northwest. Turkey, homemade rolls, candied sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, cranberry sauce, and triple berry cobbler... oh, and i cant forget the stuffing. here comes the food comma. hoping for good football games tomorrow. then blac...

looking at 2014

That year has me excited for wyoming football! It will be brett's senior year, with the most potent offense at wyoming since 96. Looking at the roster, if it stays mostly intact without attrition, wyoming will have the best receiving group maybe to ever see the field at the War. Individually, they m...

Re: McNeil will be player of the week

cause mcneil is a senior, because he's never had this kind of game before. that first touchdown catch was insane... he gained 7 yards while the ball floated around his hands... then he caught it, changed hands and stiff-armed the tackle. that was crazy... might make the top ten plays of the week. sm...

McNeil will be player of the week

Loved smith's game, but this was the best game of mcneil's career, and probably any wideout in the mwc this week. mwc offensive pow is mcneil. Right on. however... wtf DEFENSE! I understand that we hired christensen to improve our miserable offense under glenn. but gawd damn... how do we fix this in...

Re: texas-wyoming thoughts

all right, back. so bobby, I will give you some insight so when you go to the stadium with your buddies you can comment and they will be taken aback by your knowledge of cowboy football. start with our db's and safety's. primarily you will get 5 guys too look at. Starting with luke ruff. He's a team...

thanks for posting bobby. Most of us round here like down-to-earth conversations without chest pumping. I and others appreciate that you took the time to give us some inside scoop on your team. We know how good you guys are. I made the mistake, after reading some spring articles of your about diaz, ...

Re: texas-wyoming thoughts

I agree J. Their d is extremely impressive. But we have to look at what our team did last year against some highly rated defenses in TCU, Boise State, Nebraska. We definetly didn't get shutout. I believe gregg brandon holds all the credit for that. He balances his offense, and while i saw a limited ...

texas-wyoming thoughts

Two things that concern me the most about this game... 1. September Heat in Austin, at least its an evening game, but still its going to be HOT! Luckily, the pokes had an unusually hot laramie summer. 2. Texas New Defensive Coordinator Diaz. From the looks of the depth chart, they would be stupid no...

Re: Brett Smith.. early first rounder?

Looking at the college landscape there just isn't much at brett's age to compare against. There are other kids brett's age riding pine, and we will not know completely how he rates until his junior and senior seasons. but remember a few things... Brett's the current record holder for freshman qb's i...

Re: If you could choose one player

I don't know how much more we will get out of herron. honestly he already is playing within the needs of the team. As a slot reciever, he shouldn't be asked to produce 100 catches. We need improved play from our outside recievers to open him up more. I believe we recruited two individuals to help us...

Re: Who steps up?

offensive playmaker: tough one to answer in our type of balanced offense. smith loves to spread the ball around, and he will be involved in more scores than anybody else on the team. but for a guess, i think herron will account for a ton of yards, but rufran might be just as good. offensive freshman...

Re: New Commit: Nico Brown

Was looking through recruiting sites.... wouldn't be surprised to see a verbal soon from Ridge Jones, wr from tx. He would be the burner that we haven't had in a while. He took his visit last weekend and has high interest according to scout. One site has 4.40 speed... scout has him listed at 4.32. W...

Bruce and Michel should be back

earlier in the week gag's reported that bruce and mirando michel have returned to practice...how much they will get into the game is yet to be seen. However, both are huge for their respective positions. Bruce is a 6'5 240 pound TE that had a hell of a productive fall camp. He creates mismatch probl...
