Yea. Belichick publicly announced his dream was to land at a program where he could be in a conference with the likes of New Mexico State and Sacramento State.

I'll eat a bit of crow on my willingness to give Sawvell and A. Bohl a chance. Especially if we lose to AFA; that'll be the backbreaker. Definitely take the L on that one.

I'll take consolation, however, in the fact that I said the Jay Johnson hire was an absolutely disastrous one and would absolutely kill us...and several people here clowned on me for it. Lol.

I was clowned as well. I was told that the destruction of Michigan State was all Mel Tucker and that JJ was amazing.

I've always wondered about how much of coaching hires are due to the "good ol boys club". Coaches hired for who they know and how well they interview, not for the expertise they actually have. Sawvel knew Jay Johnson from a prior gig. I've never equated Michigan St. with great, or even good offense. Was anyone else rushing to hire Johnson after Tucker let him go? I kinda doubt it.

With the transfer portal opening on December 5th, I think we are going to start seeing a lot more coaches let go in the middle of the season. Teams can't afford to miss an entire class of players simply because they wait to fire their coach and don't have a new one in place until late December.

Burman should be actively looking for a replacement for Sawvel as we speak. Have them signed and delivered before December 5th and let them hit the transfer portal hard to try to get this program back on track.

We should be actively looking for Burman's replacement and that person should put together a top notch hiring committe that should start looking for PBJ's replacement

Same here. Shame on me. I even started a thread as such. Results on the field indicate that my head was firmly planted in my ass when I did that.

I won't blame anyone for being optimistic. I was for this hire. I was wrong.

I also did not jump on anyone for being skeptical of the hire though. Those that were, were right.

Which brings us to where we are. We need a new AD. How many MW championships have we had under TB? Not many and that extends beyond FB and BB.

Also here to eat some crow. I was high on this hire and drinking ALL the kool-aid. My optimism was gone by halftime in Tempe, and is so low now that I'm skipping a home game for no reason other than I can't care more that the team. Breaks my heart.

I was one who supported the hire. My apologies.

I really thought the hire would bring continuity and retain players. I also thought our D would be very good. We kept players, but regressed badly as a team, on D, offensively and with discipline. Unfortunately now I believe we’ll likely lose Waylee among others to the transfer portal.

I was mistaken, badly.

Me too. I thought Sawvel might work out- a change of style not substance- but that was a pipedream

Absolutely. UW can not afford to let Burman make the next hire in any sport, let alone Football, the #1 money maker.

I'm not sure we can afford to let him do anything at this point.

I've defended Burman a lot in the past, but his stubborn, head-in-the-sand approach to conference realignment has 100% soured me on him for good. Everyone has been three steps ahead of him since the beginning, and the sh** that comes out of his mouth in the last month or so has everyone in other CFB communities going "wtf"?

He's a complacent hack that's going to absolutely ruin us simply because he's a local guy and a good ol' boy.

Same here. I thought he had enough of the Bohl tree in his blood to not blow the team up this bad. All he had to do is carry it forward for a few years and as long as he won more than half his games, he could have tweaked the team any way he wanted. But he landed a long ways away from that tree.....

Cancelled youtube tv today. I'll try to listen to the radio if i'm in a spot I can, but I'm not going to waste any more time here. It may be the first time we have went winless since 1939 or something like that.

I'm not sure why i even bother reading up on whats going on as the NIL, portal, and now all this shit with the conference reallignment has just boiled my blood.

NCAA needs more athletes and less MBA's.

Dude makes like $400k a year and we are not getting any intelligable answers, questions asked, etc. He's probably jacking up the prices on the stadium as we speak, waiting for the immenent outflow of fans and charging more to the few that still show up.

I don't even bother with his weekly press conference. I'm assuming he isn't making a QB change or we'd have heard about it. Just incredible that after 4 weeks of the worst offense in D1 football, he just stands pat. This is Vic all over again.
