Nonetheless.... Predicting that Sawvell was not going to be as good of a coach as Bohl seemed obvious to me... But this is worse than I thought it was going to be.

The hire was bad because he's a bad coach. How he was elevated has nothing to do with his coaching ability. You said so yourself. I thought whoever replaced Bohl was not going to do as good as him.... Proper search or not.

I will say... Almost anybody besides Sawvell could probably match or exceed what Sawvell has done.

That's why you do a search. Burman blew it. The hire was bad because the proper hiring process was not employed.

My conspiracy theory was because of nepotism. Regardless of reason, Burman blew it which has nothing to do with circumstances out of our control.

Wyoming could hire me. I have no coaching experience but I could make his salary and win 0 games, I could even win 0 games at a discount on his salary
 
When the hire was made, I questioned why elevate the DC when we were giving up more yards than nearly every team in the conference. We had no pass rush last year and we don't have one this year. We were supposedly going to have a dominant defensive line. Anyways, we're stuck with him now. Knowing Burman, he'll double down and give him an extension next year like he gave Heath Schroyer.

You weren't the only one that predicted a regression. That not why I'm poking you.

You are correct that it didn't have to be this bad.... But the way where Wyoming climbed to be some sort of Boise State "lite" was never going to happen. The inevitability of all of this is just depressing.
