Wyoming @ Nevada

Why was Captain Kirk in to get one yard? I'm sick. If I wasn't at work, I'd get drunk. I applaud our defense except for giving up the 40 yard bomb with 90 seconds to go. Great run stopping day.

To be honest, I think this was going to be our toughest MWC game going into the season. It is a horribly tough loss, but our defense showed us something that we havent seen in years. I think this team will still be near the top of the conference. Ghaali was a stud tonight!

DC kneeing it is probably the biggest pussy move I have ever seen in my life. Putting Colby in was so stupid I can't even explain it... Smith's first penalty was BS but you gotta be smart and his emotions got the best of him. Just ridiculous and life as a Pokes fan always lets you down. Smith will probably be suspended by the conference, so you'd think. I'm so pissed right now

So disappointed, djm. this is a low-blow. publicly spitting scripture at him right now? wow. not cool. if you think brett is not a humble guy, you don't know him at all.

I doubt he'll be suspended. They'll look at his two Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties, and realize that the first one was bullcrap. He cost us the game, but I can't see him getting suspended.

As for the kneeing - what the hell? I understood it at the end of the first half, but not taking the timeout and at least trying to kick a field goal? We had been running all over them!

I think Peyton Manning is one of the most humble players in football. Does he beat his chest when he scores a touchdown?

Peyton is a lot older and has a lot more composure. It comes with age. I havent seen Brett Smith to be a 'me first' person.

Would we be saying the same thing about D if Nevada's QB played the second half though? My only concern... looked good tonight, but not against a full strength team and still gave up almost 600 yards...

We praise brett for his fire and passion. He didn't do anything different in this game then every other game, this ref just made some horrendous calls and inserted himself as the 12th man.

Fair. I just thought he would've take the first penalty as a wake up call. I also think you should show no emotion like that when you have nothing to show for thus far this season. It'd be one thing had we been 4-0 going in but 1-3 isn't anything id be cocky about. If you want to be looked at as a big time qb you have to act like one.

That's hard to say. There backup seemed to throw a better ball but clearly did not have the athletic ability of Fajardo.

I don't get it. We give up a bomb at the end of regulation and lay down in the overtime and you saw something in our defense? They play better than they have been but they still gave up tons of passing yards and couldn't get a stop when it mattered. Next week, Air force will run all over us. Then, we lose to Fresno and Boise. Our game with csewe will be for a high ranking in the bottom 10. I never thought I write this but I'm sorry we gave DC the extension.

Brett has been acting like that the whole year....but he did take it to a new level today. There were times during the Idaho game I thought to myself, "Some refs....the ones with their panties in a bunch....will throw flags on this kid all day"

Brett still has a long ways to go both as a player and as as leader. He is this team, and they will play off of his energy...

To bad we wasted a good defensive effort by the front 7 in stopping the run. If we had played like that in game 2 and 3 we would have been 3-1 going into this game. Incredible we are 6 points away from being 4-1 but sit 1-4.... yuck.

That's what goes overlooked! In our two recent bowl seasons we were a couple of points from having terrible records.

I realize that we WON a lot of close games... and maybe I came to expect it, but to lose 3 out of 3 close games and feel like we should have won all 3 really sucks. Cant we win at least one. If the D plays like that we have a chance the rest of the season. If we had won this game I thought we really would be starting over fighting for a conf championship, but now it just feels like more of the bad season. MUST, MUST, MUST win next weekend.

I actually am too and have never been an ardent supporter of him. He has never put faith in his players. A few years ago when we had a chance to beat a ranked TCU team at home he gave up too.

I just think we are a better team than 1-4 and bottom of the MWC indicates (and a lot of this is because the MWC is not a very good conference).

Its hard to say. In 2009, everything went UW's way TO wise and in close games. Same as 2011. 2010? Exact opposite. Wyo could. not. catch. a. break. This season has a similar feel. Outside of the CSU/AFA games, I'm not confident about UW's chances of winning.

Offensive Choke : Brett Smith and the entire spineless " let's take a knee " coaching staff.

Defensive Choke : The entire defense in the last 4 mins of the game.

Never thought Smith would be the choke and honestly didn't think the defense would hold Nevada to 137 yards.

I disagree. Nevada had several trips to the "blue zone" as they call it and came away with nothing. If Colby get one fricking yard after that last stop it's over. If the refs follow the rules at give Nevada a 1st and goal from the 19 it's over. We just asked the D to bail us out too many times tonight.
