Wyoming @ Nevada

We praise brett for his fire and passion. He didn't do anything different in this game then every other game, this ref just made some horrendous calls and inserted himself as the 12th man.

I disagree with this. I love Brett Smith as much as everyone here but you can't rip your helmet off and start yelling at a ref no matter how bad a call is they will flag you for that everytime.

If you celebrate that much after a touchdown they will usually call it also. The celebration after the TD I guess you could say let it go but most times they don't and no way are the refs going to let you show them up by ripping your helmet off.

Just not smart football today. The coaches are as much to blame with their pansy ass giving up at the end of the game and not having a play called to pick up a short 3rd and 1.

Well said

Excuse me for asking, but if I remember right, even though the officials screwed up on what should have been a 1st and goal at the 19...did Nevada not come away empty with points on that drive...didn't they turn it over?

Agree, Smith needs to keep the fire in check after the whistle blows, and cut the harry high school shite.

Couldn't agree more. Hopefully they get their shit together for Air Force or this is going to be one of the longest, most painful seasons since.....2010

@Ben_Fred: Brett Smith in tears after the game. Said emotions got the best of him. Said he was not ready to talk about the penalties. #gowyo

Is this maturity?

I disagree, He has had the same celebration he had every game last year and never once got called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Plain and simple that ref had a bug in his ass and called it for extremely tacky shit on both teams.

Ok, but show it during the game, not after. Just learn baby

Not talking about the penalties I expect to be more of a suggestion from the coaching staff so yes I would call that more maturity than was shown on the field.

Yes they did, but I'm of the opinion that it took that much more out of the defense.

You know what?

When it became 4th & 1, if I were Christensen I would have called a timeout and had the offense come to the sideline.

Then I would have asked them the following question: "Are you guys kidding me? We need 1 single yard to go home as winners here today and give us the chance to re-start our season and make huge waves in the process across the MWC. Our defense has finally showed up and you guys can't get a single yard when we need it to essentially close out this game? I'll tell you what...for the moment I'm gonna name all 11 of you the head coach of Wyoming right here and right now...the choice is yours, you can either have us punt the ball back to Nevada...or you can go back out on the field and get one damn yard so that we can win this game. The choice is yours, because if you can't make 1 yard on 2 successive plays, then we don't deserve to leave here as winners. What's it gonna be?"

Depends.....can he control his emotions against AFA? Or will he come out like an out of control psycho again?

Doesn't matter it is still a penalty if you celebrate. Best thing to do is be humble like Barry Sanders use to do and just hand the ref the ball.

I'm just not sure tears are appropriate. The defense should be the ones crying.

THAT would have been awesome! They'd have gotten that yard too I bet.

Sounds great on theory, but our coach plays not to lose
