Well, it looks like Utah is gone...only one thing left to do

Kick the ever living crap out of them in Laramie. There would be nothing better than to send their sorry butts back to SLC and to the PAC-whatever with a loss handed out by our lowly Cowboys. They still get the millions - but we at least get the scoreboard.

Oh, and Kyle Whittingham is still a classless ASSHAT jerk.

Sell-out Saturday is now October the 16th. I can't wait to see these guys in Laramie this fall. This is going to be fun.

Honestly though, I would trade Utah for Boise in a second. Their fans are the biggest bunch of candy asses on Earth. I would be surprised if more then ten of them make the trip to Laramie this year.

I like our chances at home against the Utes.
 
I don't want to offend kansasCowboy - but I don't really see my post as a "stupid" rumor. Sure, there has been no presser, but where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Many press outlets, even last night, were suggesting that Utah was gone. Even today, no press conference - so I'll respect your sensitivity.

The reason I posted this thread last night, and by the way - I don't really think I need to justify anything - is it made me feel better to start looking forward to the one thing that we can control with Utah - and that is our game against them and making them sting just a little. But by all means, play the role of the ostrich if you'd like, just don't come down on me for not joining you.
 
Betca Thompson and the other 8 MWC prezs are burning up Utah's phone lines right now begging them to stay.

While to some this may seem an obvious move for Utah, if I were sitting in the President and AD's shoes, I would have a tougher decision than most people think.

On one hand, Utah could join an atomatic BCS conference which the promise of more money, television exposure and national recognition. The price for this extra fame and fortune is having to play the likes of USC, Oregon, Cal and Stanford every year. While the Pac-10 isn't stacked with Top 10 teams, there will have a tougher path going 12-0 than they did in the MWC.

On the other hand, Utah could stay in the MWC as one of the premier programs in the fastest rising conference in the country (especially after BSU is added). While the money and TV exposure is less, they would have the potential to be a perennial Top 3 team in a (hopefully) soon-to-be BCS conference.

If I were the Prez or AD, I would probably still join the Pac-10 (for monetary and academic reasons, not necessarily athletics) but it wouldn't be as easy a decision as some think it to be.
 
Screw those utarded asshats I hope they get demolished in football in the Pac-12, I don't need to wish for them to get their asses handed to them in any other sport because that is inevitable and they will be bottom feeders.
 
Can't blame Utah for doing it. Anybody who believes that Wyoming wouldn't do the same if they had good enough academics and good enough teams to be invited, is seriously delusional.
At a business level, it would be pure idiocy to NOT join, and let's face it; universities these days are run like businesses.
 
Hopefully we can beat the asshats this year and send them packing with a nice parting gift. We were one play away last year in beating them in their house in front of there "blackout" fans. S. Gary (I believe) dropped a pick and grin that would have put us up 17-3 in fourth quarter and would have made it difficult for them to come back.

That may be true that universities are run like businesses, but they (universities and conferences) had better remember who pays the bills and puts butts in the seats.

That may be true that universities are run like businesses, but they (universities and conferences) had better remember who pays the bills and puts butts in the seats.

Playing USC, Cal, Oregon, etc. at home will probably put plenty of butts in the seats, though... more than San Diego State or UNLV would.

Utah fans better never get hypocritical about the BCS system just because they happen to get on the inside, though. If that happens, I'm going to wish the worst and cheer against them every game.
 
Since it appears that Pac-?? officials will be at the Utah press conference, I guess Utah leaving is pretty much a done deal. However, I was kind of holding out hope that the egos that make up the mormon community in Utah might be able to leverage Utah into staying.
There is no argument that the LDS church controls everything in Utah including the legislature and that BYU is the chosen child in the university system in Utah. I thought it might be possible that the LDS egos couldn't stand that BYU's little brother, the U, would be moving on to a perceived better conference while leaving them behind. I was hoping that the mormon hierachy in the state, based on their huge mormon ego, might leverage Utah into staying by threatening to withhold legislative funding to the U as a method of keeping little brother down.
I know this is quite the conspiracy theory and probably has no basis as fact, but still BYU and their fans have to be doing a slow burn over the fact that the Pac-??? asked little brother and not them.

I don't think that would have worked out well anyways.
BYU=Freakishly Conservative
PAC=Freakishly Liberal

BYU+PAC= Riots, protests, lawsuits, and discrimnation. And that is with the mere mention of adding BYU to the PAC.
 
currently, we have replaced the #18 team in the country for the #4 team in the country. Technically, we've upgraded. Utah did not look great last year. I felt we should have beat them. I think A-hole KW went undefeated with Urban recruits if I'm not mistaken. They are on their way down. I'll miss playing them each year, but now I can cruise down to SLC and watch them get destroyed by USC (probably won't be able to get tix though).
