I cannot believe UW and other schools in a similar financial situation think they can play the NIL game, as it is currently structured, successfully. They will never keep up.

Take that extra $3 million and use it to lobby our national legislators to step in and put some guard rails on NIL or to fund a feasibility study looking at making "the split" happen. Quit playing the game the big boys have rigged against you and are bound to lose.

"Remember how cool it was... never mind we lost and retained the idiot responsible". That is a sweet pitch. That's what I tried telling the BOT who never responded. You don't give people more money that don't have a track record of success, or a semblance of a plan, much less a vision. The legislature doesn't want to hear it. The private donors don't want to hear it.
