I agree with both points, I do think however that there is a trend to go in the direction that Bohl wants to go which is a more smash mouth in your face style of play. I see it more and more both in the pros and across the collegiate ranks, so I fear that there will be more of a premium for that type of recruit going forward.
Texas shows just how difficult it is currently to find and develop o lineman in the collegiate ranks, with all of their resources they find themselves in a very similar situation Wyoming is in currently. I hope that this staff CAN get it done, firing coaches every few years isn't sustainable, and neither is allowing the fan base to decline while building the program AGAIN. I don't pretend to have the answers to any of these problems, which is why I type on a computer instead of trying to correct the problems for pay. As a fan it is hard to watch my beloved pokes struggle the way they have for such a long time. I don't try to fool myself that coaching at Wyoming isn't one of the hardest jobs in the nation. I feel for those with enough guts to try in front of the public eye. In support of these folks I will be at every athletic event I can possibly attend, and continue to donate where I can.
I still stand by my original position that coach Bohl will have to be creative and adapt to whatever situation he finds himself in both now and in the future. I also believe that recruiting is difficult to put it mildly, and consistently getting players is difficult to run a very rigidly specific scheme. Again I wish this staff nothing but the best, and I will continue to support them with my pocketbook.
