Busy weekend for the Cowboys.. apparently all of the board speculation that no one will want to come here after player cuts, 2-10 record, etc appear to be unfounded with these young guys.

It would be nice if any of these were over 185

I know that's what the weight room is for, and we will just have to wait til next year.

Weights are fine for the CB but a little light for the S not too bad. Not to mention the height isn't the important factor the wingspan is.

B-Poke, the more of your posts I read, the more I'm convinced you are just looking for anything to fault the current HC administration.

Very, very few DB's (safeties, and cornerbacks, just in case you're wondering what a DB is) come out of high school at or above 190 lbs. The average playing weight, across all classes, of most FBS corners is under 190 and the average for safeties is under 200. It's nothing for an incoming freshman to put on 10-20 lbs before Fall camp.

In short, the playing weight of these players is at or above the typical FBS DB recruit.

I swear, if you lose your virginity to two college cuties on a beach with crashing surf, you'll complain they weren't [INSERT SUPERMODELS NAMES HERE], despite the fact you have zero experience with losing your virginity OR supermodels.

Lol.

One of them weighs 175. C'mon man. That's not FBS size.

Big time. Welcome to the Pokes!

I'm not a great evaluator, but all three look like tremendous athletes. I know Gafford is a track star and needless to say is super fast. I like the frame on Boyd. And Tyler hall moves great and has awesome instincts- Hall just looks the part. Great weekend.

Now we need some good looking DEs and DTs....

Actually, yes it is. Wingard was listed as 6' 170 lb. 6' 3'' 175 is a perfectly acceptable weight for a high school senior playing a skill position

And people were also complaining we didn't recruit enough JUCO guys. Well there's one for you.

I like this pick-up.

We have quite a few experienced guys in the secondary for next season right?

This kid, the UCLA kid, and another transfer right?

You are correct. And don't forget the young guys we played all year there. It seems like all the recruits that have been coming in are defensive guys with a ton of upside. I'm one of the optimistic guys but I can see the defense hopefully improving by leaps and bounds.

Do you have any capability with examination and logical progression? Read some f'kin' Marcus Aurelius sometime and learn how to make observations and forecast progression...

Start with first, he's NOT an FBS player. He's a high school senior and he's well within the average for high school seniors at that position.

Now, let's examine a calendar. Feel free to look at the boy band one hanging on your dorm room cork board and expose as many (readily visible) digits as you can to do some math. August is the eighth month. There are 18 days left in this month, so he's got, ostensibly, 37 weeks to add 10-15 lbs. to reach the FBS average FOR ALL CLASSES (freshmen are obviously going to skew to the lighter side of the range). That amounts to less than a half a pound a week he would need to gain to reach the high end of the average. See how easy that was?

Here endeth the lesson...

Beav, although we've disagreed over the years, I have also come to respect you and your opinion. That said..... the negativism has to stop. You seem so unhappy, which makes sense considering both your teams combined wins still would leave them two wins short of a bowl game, but a lot of players come to college weighing less than 175 lbs. We know players read these forums, which I think is great. I realize what is said may not "sway their opinion," but you have become the least welcoming guy on here.

Please, stop. Honestly man. It is tiring.

The three highest ranked 2016 CB's according to ESPN weigh 183, 170, and 172 lbs.

And I'm pretty sure chase appleby is the only player in the history of football to lose weight every year out of high school lol
