No, you're reading me wrong. You're ready to hand over the starting job to QBs who have not exactly been good, at all, while disparaging QBs that we already have that were rarely given the chance to develop under the previous coaching regime. You readily throw them by the wayside, partly because they were underdeveloped and partly because they haven't had much experience playing Div 1. But as soon as a failed QB announces he's looking to transfer for the 3rd time, you're ready to crown him the starter simply because he has experience. What you fail to look at, is at everything else. Their records suck, their decision making is poor, their ability to run is non existant (an ability you yourself have been demanding), and their arms aren't exactly cannons either.
Basically, going by the way YOU judge our current QBs, Heaps and Thomas are basically experienced Kirkegaards that are slower and have already proven they cannot win at the Div 1 level. THAT'S my problem with your "opinion".
How many wins does Kirkegaard as a QB have at a D.1 school? 0
How many wins does Thornton as a QB have at a D.1 school? 0
How many wins does Stratton as a QB have at a D.1 school? 0
How many wins does Young as a a QB have at a D.1 school? 0
How many QB jobs have been won by these 4 QB's at a D.1 school? 0
You are the one saying that we don't need anyone else to compete with these guys!
Talk about someone that fails miserably to read thoroughly what others write, that is YOU! Where did I EVER say that these guys (Thomas or Heap) simply because of their past experience should be given the starting QB job at Wyoming? I NEVER said this and I never even hinted it!
You are the one that doesn't want anyone else to even come in and compete with the 4 guys now on campus (other than the 2 freshmen coming in).
You talk about the "failure" of Heap and Thomas (who isn't coming to Wyoming of course)....but they have MORE success than all four of the QB's who played Spring ball at Wyoming in total! I see that you are good at making excuses...."rarely given the chance....". Kirkegaard had EVERY chance in the book to show what he was able to do in 3 years, the flat out fact was that he isn't close to the QB that Brett Smith is, another fact that you hate to admit is true. T. Thornton wasn't on campus that long before DC left, but Stratton was and he had every chance to show what he was capable of as well. Your making excuses for these guys failures of winning the starting QB job at Wyoming is lame. How about supporting the program instead of the player?
I sat in the stadium and watched the Spring game and frankly not one of the QB's was truly impressive, as none of them took charge of their squad. Thornton was the most successful through the air, and Stratton was the most successful on the ground, and that is frightening! It really appears that you are pulling for specific guys instead of the program and luckily Coach Bohl DOESN'T think like you, and I feel it is so great that you ignore what Coach Bohl says about the progress of the QB position and I guess you know more than he does.
