It's been encouraging to see Grabau start to do good and to see Cooke be productive on offense again. It is sad though to see hankerson go yet again another game without scoring. Nance has got be a bit more aggressive IMO, he still seems like he will have 5-8 minute stretches where he is invisible, but 3rd in the conference in scoring ain't bad. I just hope the team doesn't get too gassed though. Some of our starters are playing very hefty minutes.

Hankerson has got to pop out of this funk. I think he will. He has too much talent to be a complete dud the rest of the season. When he gets hot again, watch out.

He'll be fine. If Grabau keeps playing like he has been, all we need is for Hankerson to be good for his typical, 8 or so points per night and we'll be VERY tough to beat. If he scores 8 against Utah State, it turns the entire complexion of the game. If he scores 8 against Nevada, it's a blowout. We're simply asking for an average game from a guy that's shown us he's fully capable of knocking down shots and scoring points.

The reason that we haven't looked great for the past few weeks is because we've had interchangeable starters in some sort of serious funk. I'd say that, for the most part, Nance and Adams are good enough that we can pretty much count on them on a regular basis. If we get some decent level of contribution from the other 3 starters during a single game, we'll beat anyone in the conference and we'll be most of them convincingly.

I love where we're standing right now. With Grabau coming on, I can see us hitting our stride right now...when it matters most.

These are my thoughts...

We have been lucky to eek out a couple wins against Fresno and New Mexico. Then had the loss against Utah State.
The team has plenty of reason to start playing better. They know it.
Now, just wait for them to actually start playing better. If we can get on another roll right here, starting with this CSU game, and carry it for a while we will be set up to win a MW championship.

I don't expect us to win out if we do get hot, but I think we can pick up enough W's to position ourselves at the top. Then, who knows maybe a loss in the Pit for the final regular season game might be enough of a wake-up call to get us going on another streak when it REALLY matters.

Add a W for Boise. Put them at 6-3 at their halfway point.

5 teams within 1 game.

Wyo is one of them and 3-1 against the others.

Kansas State and Colorado State! Ugh!! AND at 2 neutral sites! One in Witchita, one in Denver.

Why aren't we doing this type of crap?

No more, "they won't come here".

Now, CSU has a great chance to win some legit games and help erase some of the talk about soft OOC.

We need to do the same.

And what would be our neutral sight of consequence? Denver? That's not even in our home state! Which to me is retarded. Keep the games in WYO. KSU can do a neutral game anywhere in Kansas, because they have the state and fan support. Kind of surprised they chose Wichita considering all of KSU fans are in Western Kansas.
KSU is just a name anyway, there's nothing special there anyway.
Besides SMU was our KSU on our schedule this year, we just couldn't pull it off.

Who cares if it's not our home state? You see it ALL the time!

Oregon-LSU in Dallas.
Oklahoma State-Florida State in Dallas.

Penn State played in FUCKING IRELAND.

We can't drive from Laramie and Cheyenne to go to the Pepsi Center to play the Jayhawks? We can't go to Omaha to play Indiana?

We need to make an effort, and obviously getting teams to come to Laramie isn't going to result in good competition, that is the whole point of this!

We either need to go play in tourneys, go on some road trips, or schedule some neutral site game.

How about UCLA in Vegas? Oregon State in Boise? It's not impossible, hell it's not even hard.
