MWC Hoops

It leaves a crappy taste in my mouth to cheer for CSU, but I think our chances at winning the league are better if SDSU loses to the Rams tomorrow in Fort Collins.

SDSU better win their next 3 if they want to stay in the race.
After their next 3 (vs Fresno, vs Utah State, @ Nevada) they have a very grueling 4 game stretch:
@ Boise State
vs Wyoming
vs CSU
@ New Mexico
 
Stoked for the Boise-CSU game. Boise State is playing great now. 4 game winning streak in conference play after starting 0-3.

Crazy to think though, that after starting 0-3, they could be 1 game back from MW lead on Tuesday night if they beat the rams and we lose to Utah State.

More of acknowledging how well Boise is playing.

Let's beat USU. Let's whoop Nevada in front of 10k, get ranked, beat the also-ranked sheep in Wednesday sellout, then carry our momentum to the Springs and get yet another road win!

I like that the Mountain West is back to getting a couple of at-large bids in the eyes of some of the pundits.

There for a while, it was looking like people were calling us a 1-bid conference, and that leaves a very thin margin for what looks like three very deserving teams at this point, SDSU, the Sheep, and Us. There are no "bad" OOC losses in that bunch (although our loss to CAL is looking worse and worse) , but also not a lot of very "good" OOC wins.

Our biggest roadblock to getting multiple at-large bids is how badly the conference as a whole has shit the bed in the tournament the past decade or so. Until the teams that get it can show they belong, less and less will get the chance.
