Longhorn fans coming to wyoming game

PS: try to keep the "Texass," "Longwhorns" comments down, and don't do the Horns Down unless you want us to think your on the level of ou fans. ha

That is pretty funny...Longwhorns...that had to have come from an OU fan I assume. I look forward to meeting some Texas fans this season, and traveling to Austin next season. For what it is worth, and if it comes down to it and Texas has a shot at Florida, I hope you whip thier asses.

Ha, thanks.

Which tailgate area is the best to at least walk around? We're going to go to the Library probably for a few hours (they told us they'd open up early if we had a big group). But I want to walk around and see the campus, the tailgating, and talk with some of the Cowboy faithful.

I would recommend Tailgate Park before the game (directly south of the stadium)...there should be a good gathering of people, they serve brats & beer, etc.

If you really want to see the campus, go to the corner of 9th & Ivinson (maybe early in the morning before the game, or the day before), park your car where you can, and walk through campus (heading a bit north, and then east) until you reach the stadium (about 12 city blocks). Some of the buildings are well over 100 years old, and all feature a sandstone exterior. It is a really beautiful campus...enjoy!

There are about 300 tickets right now for sale on stub hub for the TX UW game, and another 25 or so on ebay.

Stubhub lists prices ranging from $130 - $895.

From a Texas view point, $130 for a seat close to midfield isn't a bad deal. Especially considering the top of the upper deck is probably about as high as the top of our lower deck. And I mean height wise, not elevation wise ;) Also considering face value for our home games is around $90, and $100 for the OU game. But I can understand someone not wanting to travel that far and have to pay that or more.

I have 2 questions:

How many rows are in War Memorial's upper deck?

How are seats on row 28 of the upper deck (I'm assuming this is near the top)? Any pics?

My group has the entire trip planned... 1 week road trip from Sacramento and ending up in Laramie. Only problem is we still haven't bought tix

Does anyone know if we can bring our stadium seats into the stadium. It's not that our posteriors can't handle benches. Our rigs have handy pockets for glasses, radio, camera, and a drink bottle. http://www.fansedge.com/Texas-Longhorns-Stadium-Cushion-_-1253720241_PD.html?froogle=44-27564 If someone could post a web site w your stadium rules and traditions, I'll pass it on to the rest of the Longhorn community we run with.

We're very much looking forward to our trip to Laramie w the expectation of enjoying your Wyoming hospitality, beautiful scenery and respectfully supporting our team. We second TexasFight's comments about "down" horns, longwhorns, (nobody mentioned steers and queers yet) etc. It won't be original and it won't be funny. Between our long and bitter rivals Arkansas, A&M and OU, there probably isn't any thing someone can say or do that those folks haven't used on us thousands of times over the past half century. We'll ignore such behavior as best we can because even WE have a few idiots that can't behave around official guests of our university. Really though, we would rather not see that stuff and just share a fun weekend with you in your community and a good football game. If we want to be abused, we'll go to work, which we'll do Monday anyway.

I wouldn't worry about for us taking over your stadium, either. I'll be surprised if even a couple of thousand more than our allotment will be there. And those of us who ARE there will probably be gasping for air rather than hollering your team into third-down false starts. I've spent summers hiking and climbing in Colorado so I know what 7200' feels like and Day One is never pretty.

See y'all there.

Thanks for posting those links Jeff. I am pretty sure there is no problem bringing in your own stadium seats as long as they aren't too wide and take up the adjoining seating area. I have seen many use them and they sure beat sitting on the hard seating that is there.

Thanks for the link, Virginian.

The game day policy states that "flash photography and video cameras are not permitted at University of Wyoming Athletic events." How strict are they about cameras? I'd kind of like to have a few pictures of the place.

I am pretty sure you can take as many pictures as you would like, just turn off the flash. ;)

At Baylor they will literally tell you to stop taking pictures at a sporting event. I did at a basketball game there and they said if they caught me again they would kick me out.

I've taken plenty of pictures at UW games, just turn off the flash as someone already mentioned.
