Yes, something wrong with that? It should be about getting the students going and raising the level of noise in the stadium. Look at VA Tech and Enter Sandman as a perfect example.

Enter Sandman is a much more well known song than Cowboys From Hell.

Go on campus and do a random poll of students to see how many of them know about Pantera and Cowboys From Hell. My guess is maybe 15%.

It's a great song that was popular amongst metal heads in the 1990's and early 2000's. That doesn't make it a great song for a stadium tradition. If you want to get crowd participation and crowd energy, pick something that everyone knows!

That song would cause some pacemakers in the west stands to go off form anger.

IMO Korn Blind or Coming Undone might be the closes we get to metal and most fans accept it

Understand the point, but if something mild and meek like that is selected we might as well start a tradition of singing Kumbaya during time outs.

To me it should be about projecting power like this Wyoming program can’t be beat at the War and in celebration of that fact we enjoy the rifts of a strong tune even if most of us can only sing the refrain. If anything get the students riled up and go with an oldie even the old folks know - Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers by ZZ Top.

If we really need an easy going song everyone can sing it might as well be “The wheels on the bus” because Burman has definitely kept us from “jetting” forward.

Not sure I agree with you all. I think this is less about "hype" and more about bringing fans together. If you look at other teams that do second half traditions, a lot of them are sing alongs that bring people together in unison. Anything that is meant to project power or hype is for the start of the game.
