Sweet Jesus, it's about damn time!

8/31 @ Nebraska
9/7 vs. Idaho
9/14 vs. Northern Colorado
9/21 @ Air Force
9/28 @ Texas State
10/5 BYE
10/12 vs. New Mexico (probably homecoming)
10/19 vs. Colorado State
10/26 @ San Jose State
11/2 BYE
11/7 vs. Fresno State
11/16 @ Boise State
11/23 vs. Hawai'i
11/30 @ Utah State

Thoughts on the schedule:

It lines up nicely. Tough game with Nebraska followed by games we should win against Idaho and UNC. Rivalry game @ Air Force followed by another game we should win @ Texas State. Bye week right before homecoming, bye week before the tough home stretch.

I'm still pretty miffed that we don't play the sheep in the last game of the season, but am happy that we get the islanders on our last and typically coldest home game. Also good that there's no home game the week of Thanksgiving.

Hawaii will be easy. A friend of mine thinks another0-12 season like the one they had in 1998 could happen again. Several of their players are getting injured already.

This. The more I think about it, the more it pisses me off. It's the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi, but it's being played in the middle of October? Fuck that. This should be the last game for each team EVERY SEASON! I know, I know, it's cold at the end of the year. Suck it up and get your asses to the stadium!

Positives: Good chance Wyoming starts this season strong.....after Nebraska, they could win any of the following 7 games. Negatives: November is nasty. Excluding Hawaii, Wyoming could very well lose all those games.

A good start is mandatory for a good season.....a late season recovery like last year is unlikely.

There is a reason we don't play the border war the final weekend. Its the weekend after thanksgiving. We had been playing it the final weekend until last year(or possibly two years ago). Attendance was terrible and all the students went home. I think both Wyoming and CSU decided they would rather have it during a time when students wouldn't be at home.

Nevada's schedule.. jesus that's rough.

Hope so. I have a bunch of friends who roots for the Bows. Some think a 7 win season is possible. Bull 0-12 is more likely.

CSU should ALWAYS be the last game. MWC fucked up royally.

Whoa. I only see 3 games I would deem as "likely wins"

I'm actually glad the CSU game is mid-October. Attendance was so brutal when it was the last game of the season. We will have a true home field advantage with the students and more fans will probably attend... Especially if we are winning!

Anyone play the NCAA football game? They always have WYO & Utah State as rivals. Maybe the MW is trying to create a new rivalry?

Other thoughts... September is crucial for us. October should be successful. November is brutal!

I think we will surprise people with a strong showing at Neb, but we will prob drop it in the end, 31-38. 0-1. We blow the doors off Idaho, Who has lost everything from last year and starts with a new coach, 48-13. 1-1. We do not struggle with UNC like we did with CP last year, we win in good ol' fashion, 52-10, 2-1. Our first test of conference, AFA. It is a struggle at the beginning, but then we pull away in the end, 31-21, 3-1. Our road game south will be relatively easy. This Tex St. team has lost a lot of firepower, 38-17, 4-1. We then rest up and prep for a questionable UNM team, 31-20, 5-1. Then we prep for our rival who should be a better team, barring injuries. 41-27, 6-1. California has not been to kind to the Cowboys as of late, and I don't think it will change here. SJSU is loaded on O and has a pretty good D coming back from an 11-2 year. 34-41, 6-2. We will lick our wounds and try to bounce back in Laramie, but fall yet again to Fresno, 24-38, 6-3. We go to the Smurf turf and play the best game we have ever played there, but we fall in the end, 33-37, 6-4. We have the tropic team who will have struggled all year come to the high plains of Laramie for the first time in years. The weather will be an issue and Wyo's O prevails. 41-16, 7-4. Our boys know they are going bowling, but still realize they have one game left. Smith and a lot of the players remember Chuckie Keeton and the Aggies who put up 63 on them a few years ago. NOT AGAIN! There is a reason USU's coach left. Their top RB (1,500+) last year is gone. The majority of their talent at WR/TE is gone! Which means Keeton has to start from scratch. Wyo end on the road with a "W", 28-23, 8-4.
8-4, 5-3 conf. And we go bowling again!

Question mark games (could go either way): AFA, CSU, FSU, USU. That potential for a four game spread in either direction.
Smith will have a banner year, with well over 3,000 yards passing and 500+ yards rushing. Wick and May will have anywhere from 400 to 600 yards rushing. We will have one 1,000+ yard WR for the first time since Bouknight.
Coach will be here longer...

Leave it to Beaver says....
13-0 Wyoming vs. 13-0 Oregon State in the Rose Bowl.

Okay but seriously....
I like that we play CSU in October, because the attendance issue. I want people to remember that we beat them, and not have it be an after thought.
I like that we get @USU right after TurkeyDay. I will be back home (Evanston) and tons of people will be back in the SW of the State and will make the trip.

I like the schedule a lot this year. Senior day against a crap Hawaii team who will HATE being in Laramie, Wyoming in the middle of friggin November right before Turkey Day break.
I think we go 3-0 against Colorado teams (2 MWC, 1 FCS). Luckily we get 2 of the 3 in Laradise.

I think we beat Texas St. and Idaho, and I think we can pull the upset against Nebraska but I won't count on it considering we haven't beat them or Texas or CU, or any of our "big" games.

3-0 against colorado, hopefully 2-0 but 1-1 would be nice against the states of cali and idaho

So...
L @Neb.
W Idaho
W Northern Colorado
W @AFA
W @TX.St.
W NM
W CSU
W @SJSU
W Fresno St.
L @Boise St.
W Hawaii
W @USU

Fresno State coming to Laradise in November as well. Chalk it up!
Brett Smith MWC POY

Time to bring some perspective.... :P

8/31 @ Nebraska - L
9/7 vs. Idaho - W
9/14 vs. Northern Colorado - W
9/21 @ Air Force - L
9/28 @ Texas State - W
10/5 BYE
10/12 vs. New Mexico - W
10/19 vs. Colorado State - W
10/26 @ San Jose State - L
11/2 BYE
11/7 vs. Fresno State - L
11/16 @ Boise State - L
11/23 vs. Hawai'i - W
11/30 @ Utah State - L

2013 Wyoming Cowboys - 6-6 (3-5)

Air Force is the game I had the hardest separating the two. Other than that, I'm confident that's how it will play out. Whether 6-6 or 7-5, the Pokes make a second trip to Boise, Idaho in 2013 and play in the Potato Bowl against a MAC or ACC opponent.

Nebraska L
Idaho W
UNC W
AFA W
Texas State W
UNM W
CSU W
SJSU W
FSU L
Boise L
Hawai'i W
USU W

The USU game could go either way I see us either 8-4 or 9-3.

^^^ Predictions from last year....Hint: we all suck. Every last one of us. Do not read if you don't want to cringe.

Because no one goes whether it's in Laramie or FoCo. Thanksgiving weekend games have always sucked attendance-wise.
