I don't post here much, but here is my spiel.
Came to Wyoming with my family when I was 9. Next year was the Fiesta Bowl - a ten year old was hooked. At 12 the family moved to Gillete and the migration to Laramie at 18 was natural for me.
1984-85, 85-86 lived in McIntyre Hall 2nd floor with some of the Bball team, Turk Boyd used to come over. We would go to the games early, usually we sent the youngest to get railing seats - those were the days of the newspapers flying (and the occasional banana when CSU came). The team was peaking again, and I got to see the NITs and Dembo sitting on the rim.
I was sailing in the Pacific when Erickson came for his year, but I was back to try and salvage my grades the year later, the glorious late 1980s. Conference titles, huge numbers, first lights game...
Took a 4 year leave after getting my MA in 1993, but since then I have back. Place is more important than money, and I don't do the corporate thing that well.
I am still here - I work for UW, I teach a class in History each semester, and I make sure that my class knows that (beyond history) the most important think in the world is UW sports.
Outside of those first 9 years, I am a lifer. Hell, I even gave Wyoming shirts to my nieces and nephews in Africa (my sister is a linguist there).
