Chris Boucher

Would Twitter seem much different if a player hopped on this forum and blasted us when we were ripping on hank? I didn't see the Twitter feud so I can't say too much. Friends defend friends to a fault. I can't hate on that. Trey seems passionate, I hope that translates to his game. Should he calm down on Twitter? Sure. So should a hundred pro athletes. Taking Twitter too serious is bad business for fans and athletes

Trey's just being:
1. a good friend
2. a good teammate
3. a 20 yr old young man who occasionally says dumb stuff.

He's certainly not a bad person, geez. I bet he's a pretty cool dude if you'd get to know him.

Ok...

Back to the original topic, things just got a little (a lot) more difficult for us. Iowa State set to meet with Chris Boucher today according to multiple reports.

Ouch - I like Iowa State (bracket busting assholes!). Not sure he plays there next year though...maybe 7th or 8th off the bench. They have a ton coming back, including 4 of their top 5 scorers, (including top 3 Niang, Morris, McKay).

If he's already narrowed his list and eliminated schools like Pitt, Oklahoma State, and Memphis....I'm not sure Iowa State is a huge threat.

Seems like he is trying to narrow and not add schools at this point.

my .02

Agree. While he is hugely talented, I'm not sure how easily he inserts himself into ISU's starting line up. They are loaded and I believe his playing opportunities would be limited. He needs to come to Wyoming where he can be a star from day one! :D

Like it wasn't even "@hankerson" or tagging him or anything. Lol.
And that makes it okay?

Do you get how twitter works??? He didn't insult Hankerson, he simply said the same thing multiple people on here said.
He didn't tag Hankerson in the tweet so Hank would see it.
If some random person can't tweet innocent things without getting threatened by people, and you are defending the fuck who threatened the kid, you are just as stupid as Washington is.

Some random kid tweeted "Hankerson needs benched". This kid has NO affiliation with the team.

The entire team came out and blasted the kid including Trey Washington literally threatening the kid.

How does this not get through to you?

It got to Coach Shyatt and he was pissed.

Now, Washington is being a tool on twitter some more.
To the point that people in the athletic department are not happy about it. But you, who doesn't know WTF you are talking about think he can do no wrong.

Yes, that does make it ok. Last time I checked free speech was still a part of the laws of this country and airing your opinion is perfectly within your rights as a citizen and a fan. What ISN"T free speech is threatening another person.

B.S. if you can't remember, the entire team had to stand up for themselves this year because you jock chasing twitter tough guys were insulting them throughout the season. They do read the boards. Who wants to come play in a place where their own fans insult them after a bad loss?

Clearly, you don't visit any other message boards (not a knock, just an observation). If you did, you would know that this type of negative banter goes on at EVERY message board on the internet. This is nothing new, and we are tame to many of the other fan bases when it comes to criticizing our players. This isn't byu, don't censor my, or anyone else's, opinion!

Sorry to continue with the off-topic conversation. OP, you can always go back and edit the original posting so that the title of the thread changes in the forum.

Message boards are full of negative types of people. Negative because their school/team is not succeeding in a way they wish they would.

I get frustrated as hell when Wyoming loses. That frustration comes out in a bad way if I get on Wyonation.

Can you imagine some of those Alabama boards after Urban Meyer took it to them in the Sugar Bowl with a 3rd string QB? Or when Auburn beat them on the Kick-6? Or when Bob Stoops beat down Bama in the Sugar Bowl? Or when they lose to a lowly MWC team in the Sugar Bowl?

It happens.

This radio interview with the Northwest Trapper's coach is very worthwhile listening to. He comes across as inferring Wyoming has a good shot at signing Boucher. A guy that could not dribble well with his left hand a year and half ago still has a lot of upside!

Sounds more like we are 3rd in line he has two visits planned and if nothing comes from them they expect an offer from Wyoming. Seems interesting have we offered him already the commit sites are always slow but I would have expected something if we had already offered.

I heard the interview very differently. It doesn't sound like we are even on his list of visits.

Wonder who else we are recruiting?

Yeah. From what I heard in the interview he has 2 other visits scheduled and if he doesn't get blown away with anything to make him commit right away he is going to take a visit to Wyoming is what was said. So I don't think we are out of the picture by any means we will just have to see how his two other visits go.

As far as who else are we recruiting... who knows?

Hope Chris decides to take a visit to Wyoming. Think if he decides to we have a great shot at getting him.

You could be right Nowhere Poke. My brown and gold glasses may be influencing my interpretation of what I heard.
One would think a visit would be in the works. Maybe he has been to Laramie in the past? Would think he would want to meet the players too.

If Boucher tweeted he just narrowed his list down to 5 teams.....I'm guessing a visit is in the works. I haven't listened to the interview, but could it have been prior to the tweet? We did come in late for his services, so maybe he just hasn't scheduled anything yet.

Thanks for posting Cody.

Got this piece of info off of one of the Iowa St. message boards. Looks like someone read an article on the Nebraska boards but you have to have a subscription but they posted what they thought was relevant from it.

https://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1755397" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you can't read it, the relevant part states:

"He has those two schools (TCU, TT) on him and then he has Iowa State and Oregon State that he is still very, very interested in. Iowa State is actually flying in today to see him. I think it likely comes down to them.

Re: Minnesota, he says "they fit him because they play a little bit faster." If he likes Minnesota's style, he should absolutely love ISU's style. Also interesting that the description matches that of McKay almost exactly as far as running, blocking shots, and playing the point on the press. Also, looks like he can take people off the dribble."

The quote that I bolded is from the article and not sure who said it but it appears that he is mainly interested in those 4 schools and Wyoming would be out of the picture.

So hopefully Shyatt and the staff can find a good big man for next year as it doesn't appear Boucher is that interested in us based on that article.

Looks like he is leaning towards TCU, Texas Tech, Oregon St. and Iowa St.

So just found out from looking at an Iowa St. forum that one of the guys who gets the inside scoops on their basketball recruiting from the coaches and whoever else says this ... he quoted " RECRUITING: Chris Boucher tidbit
Not crazy about Iowa State's chances here. Not sure about Iowa State's interest either. It's a fluid deal but I wouldn't hold your breath. "

So sounds like Iowa St. might be out of the picture.

Hope his coach sways him to Wyoming.
