This article on Boucher mentions that there is a guard on the team that he grew up with. I wonder if we're considering offering Delsilein a slot to sweeten our offer?

http://www.codyenterprise.com/news/sports/article_a32425fe-dc8d-11e4-a69d-5f92503037e0.html

From that article:
Boucher has narrowed his choices to six schools, Wyoming, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, Oregon State, Washington State and Minnesota.

I was thinking about that as well since they have played together but we would have to offer him to walk on for next year with the possibility of a scholarship the year after since we don't have any available scholarships left.
Or we send a 5'9" point guard packing to free up a spot.....

That is certainly an option too...

What is with this board. Now people want to give up a 3* PG....who is taller than 5'9", to bring in a friend of a guy who would only be here two years? Stupid.

If anything, I would be okay with it if someone like Washington didn't return. Otherwise, we're abandoning Shyatt's principle from building up not looking for quick fixes.

I want Boucher to come to Wyoming in a bad way....but not at the expense of the program.

Stupid is him tweeting. He has about worn out his welcome. Not sure where you get 3* either. He wasn't close to being a 3* prospect with Rivals, Scout or ESPN.

I want to see Boucher in brown and gold like nobody else. I too am leery about going down a road where we forsake a scholarship athlete who has seemingly bought into this program for a "walk on level" athlete. I could very well see shyatt pitching the kid as a preferred walk on if it sways a kid like Boucher

Who is 5'9 and who was a 3 star? Must be talking about the kid from Texas. DIdn't think he was a 3 star was he?
I think they are talking about Conway. I apologize if wrong.

My bad...I thought you were talking about Conway who is everything the program could ask for. If you are talking about another player....then I'm okay with that if it happens.

Whaaat? No way would I trade Conway for anyone. Must be talking about Washington. And for the record I think Trey Washington will tear it up next year. Glad to have him.

Trey Washington is the player being spoken of

Washington might be capable of tearing it up. I just know patience is wearing thin with him and his twitter tirades. Ideally, we offer Desimien a preferred walk-spot and the chance to play alongside Boucher. Something tells me that we actually have 2 scholarships that we could be using. Shyatt's comments on the radio mentioned 6-7 new faces next year. Can't help but think there is more attrition than just Tyrell Williams. Of course, could be reading way too much into his comments also. Could include walk-ons in the 6-7.

Absolutely not Conway. That dude is a baller and a keeper!

I wouldn't read too much into Shyatt's comments. We already have 5 (Marshall, Naughton, Moemeka, Conway, James) and all signs point to Williams leaving with his replacement being a 6th. If there is a 7th I would guess it's a walk-on because Shyatt always includes the walk-ons when he talks of players (number of seniors, number of guards, etc.).

All signs point to Williams leaving (even if it hasn't been announced) and the Pokes signing a transfer big as a replacement. Boucher would obviously be the top target in that regard. Hope we land him.

Wearing thin on who? I've only seen bitching on here from a few people. I have no problem with anything from him. I expect big things from him and am really happy to have him on board.

I'm sure the 6-7 included walk-ons. Probaly 2 walk-ons as we lost both of ours. Last I heard they hadn't made a decidion on Williams(Gags talking to Duncan last week or maybe two ago.) With them going after Boucher it looks like there is a roster spot open. I would rather have Boucher over Williams but I hope the coaches aren't waiting to see if they can land Boucher before making a decision on Williams. If he has academic reasons or other personal reasons to leave then I am for it but I don't like the idea of the coaches finding someone they think is better and cutting a kid loose after making a commitment to that kid. Not saying that is what the coaches are doing and the fact he had to concentrate on school instead of participating with basketball tends to lend itself to academic reasons but was curious that the coach said they hadn't made a decision involving Williams.

I didn't say it was you. There are people within the Athletic Department that are not impressed.

If the point of this topic is to convince Chris Boucher to come and be a cowboy, you guys totally fucked it up...

Trying to get back on track: Chris, we've got some big shoes to fill and you've got the skill set to help WYO keep improving. Our coaches will help you develop. DC had very little experience coming in but blossomed into a great player and led the nation in dunks his senior year. Of your top choices, I think the staff here at WYO will give you the best chance at the NBA. Please make the trek over to Laramie, don't leave the cowboy state!

Didn't think you said it was me. Was just wondering who because I thought you were implying everyone was losing patience so I said I could care less about his previous tweets. You now clarified that some in the AD aren't happy with it. Cool. I still doubt they are unhappy enough to lead to a dismissal.

Running a college basketball team is as much about perception as it is production.

It's no secret Washington has pissed off a lot of fans. Didn't piss you off? Well, that doesn't really matter. Still has pissed off a lot of people.

Keeping fans happy is a big deal. Now if this is true about patience running thin within the athletic department, then well, all I can say is the kid is digging his own grave.

I wouldn't mind seeing Washington gone.

But what I really want is Boucher starting next season for WYOMING!

6'10", 200-205 lbs, 44.4% from 3 point range, 75.8 % free throws. Rated a 4 star by some. Sort of thin. Really nice shooting form for only playing about 4 years.

Evidently left New Mexico Junior College for Powell because he was under-used.
