LMFAO at BYU. Now we get to listen to them telling us how awesome the WCC is.
Can't wait to see them fail as an independent in football every year.
Realistically, I don't think they will fail. However, they are going to have to explain a seriously problematic strength of schedule argument at the end of each year.
At this point, they have alienated the WAC and MWC. The only two regional pools of potential games for the coogs. I really doubt the big boys are going to go all out for home and homes with them, due to the risk factor and simply for the reason of 'Why the hell should we?'. Whats left? FCS and a bunch of Eastern schools. Maybe they get the academies to commit to something but again, not sure that helps with SOS in the end (not dissing AFA, Navy, or Army but trying to be honest).
Maybe they make a lot of money on BYU TV, maybe they don't. That is something we will have to wait and see. I don't know what advertising elephants they have lined up but I don't see much national appeal for big corps to put their dollars on there? :brick: Am I missing something?
Really, this is a big loser of a deal for them. They come off looking like spoiled little brats who pouted when their 'brother' got called up to the majors. They were publicly outed for being involved in questionable manipulations between conferences. They have dramatically toughened the ADs job of scheduling games for them. Finally, they seem to have substantially overestimated their national appeal.
I don't envy them, they have a tough row to hoe.
They must have gotten some powerful indications the Big XII-2 is interested in them. Or, they have perceived it that way.
I'm more interested in who we are looking at next (if anyone). Houston seems to be the obvious choice but why in the hell does USU and UTEP keep popping up?
