Speaking of green stuff hows that lizard you guys worship doing?

This is a great example of why Wyoming fans are so great - you can't buy this kind of entertainment. I've always liked going to games in Laramie just to see all the drunk cowgirls walk by the BYU section and flip us off. Great stuff.

Hey, when your little pokies come to Provo this year why not send along the drunk cowgirls for kicks? We'll need some form of entertainment by the middle of the second quarter.

BYU/Mormons are always insecure, BYU didn't bring us in money your big brother Utah did.

Let me explain it this way. Pretend BYU is a cowboy and Utah is a horse. When the cowboy goes out on the range to herd up some cattle he takes along his horse. This horse is good for transportation and helping travel the windy plains, but it's the cowboy that gets the paycheck at the end of the day. Sure, the horse went everywhere the cowboy did but it didn't get any money. It was the cowboy who directed the show.

Does this help?

Nice spelling. That BYU edumacation must be paying off for you

Sorry to trip you up like that - it must have ruined your whole evening trying to make sense out of that sentence.

No just makes you look like more of an arrogant asshole :thumb:

haha.. you shut your whore mouth, allcoug!

I expected a few of you hosers to show up here to try to defend your sorry ass team, but it ain't gonna happen on this forum. You guys can take your team, TV network, and special underwear and rot in hell for all I care. Your fancy little TV station might reach 55 million households, but it isn't willingly. If you think BYU-TV is going to generate some huge revenue, then you guys are going to be in pretty sorry shape. You might get a contract with ESPN to play some football, hope you like showing up on a Tuesday or Thursday night to play some football! No way in hell they're going to give you a Saturday game to play New Mexico State or Hawaii. If you think we're dragging the conference down, look down the road at the sorriest MWC team, Colorado State. Cheap bastards can't even invest some money in their athletic programs, unlike Wyoming, who's investing like crazy in athletics and we have some of the nicest facilities in the MWC. Or take a look at the commuter school San Diego State who has brought nothing to the MWC, or the commuter school UNLV.. if it wasn't for basketball they'd be in the Big Sky Conf.

You think that joining the WCC is going to help your rep? If it wasn't for Gonzaga that conference would be horrific in basketball, and if you think you're on the same level as Gonzaga in MBB you've got to be smoking some of that hippy cabbage. This is typical BYU bullshit if I've ever seen it.. whine and cry because the WAC isn't paying enough, so they scuttle some teams and form the MWC.. now the MWC isn't paying enough, so they try to pull one over on the MWC by trying to get into the weak-assed WAC.. now what. Plan C? Move out of the MWC and go for .... the WCC and football independence? News flash Cougars!! YOU'RE NOT NOTRE DAME! No one outside of Salt Lake City, or even Utah, gives a flying fuck about BYU. Notre Dame has street cred. BYU has the world thinking they're a bunch of backwards ass mountain people with a funny religion that comes and knocks on your door.

But hey, you guys are obviously better than us Wyomingites.. I mean, we live in barns and ride horses to work and all. Good luck, you're gonna need it!

I think a better explanation would be this:
Imagine Utah is the star player on the football team and BYnerU is the towelboy. Utah goes on to help his team win the championship game and is justly awarded with a scholarship offer. BYnerU comes up and demands that he also get a scholarship because he gave Utah a towel in the shower room.

Make sense to you now? Or are you still going to go on with your arrogant claims about how BYnerU is the end all be all in the West for football?

LMFAO at BYU. Now we get to listen to them telling us how awesome the WCC is.

Can't wait to see them fail as an independent in football every year.

I don't like BYU sports so I don't want it to work out for them BUT apparently they have so many LDS-ers who would watch on tv (I've heard 50 million) that they have a lot of power that way in order to make independence work out for them.
I've heard that they like the faith based WCC.

Byu will not have enough people to watch them on their network. There are only 13 million mormons world wide and only about six in the united states. They will get paid more money for espn but will have to play on thursday and wed. BYU is not Notre Dame this isn't gonna work well for them.
Oh. I thought I heard Trevor Matich say 50 Million homes had BYU tv.
I know he's a former BYU player.

50M homes may have it, but that's because just about everyone has it whether they like it or not. I had when I lived in Louisiana and again up here in Alaska. The ONLY reason I would watch BYUTv is if a Wyoming game was on, and it wasn't getting any air-time from anyone else up here.

Just cause 50M people have it, doesn't mean that 50M will watch it!

hey allcoug, here's a metaphor you might understand (as I'm sure everyone at BYU will). BYU will be the helpless pioneers at Mountain Meadow, and most of your opponents will murderers led by brigham young, who will slaughter you. There's a good history lesson every BYU fan should be aware of. Here's to sub-.500 season in 2010 for BYU.

This is one of the funniest forums I've seen. So you're glad BYU is gone from the conference - maybe you should get out of the barn every once in a while and realize that it's schools like Wyoming is keeping the MWC from becoming an AQ conference and a main reason why we are leaving. Seriously, you can barely keep a team on the field.

We've enjoyed kicking the crap out of you over the years. It's always been a nice little scrimmage. Now that you don't have BYU in your conference to give you free money you might want to expand the kettle corn stand at the stadium.

Oh, and one last thing. If we ever do have an opening on our schedule and want to invite you to play with us - you will play because we'll through you some cash. You know, that green stuff that we kept bringing to the conference only to hand out to all the bottom dwellers of the MWC.

Giddy up!
What position did you play on the BYU football team?

The MWC is now more stable than it has been in a year. Bywho leaving is like pulling your finger out of a pool of water - they will not be missed. :thumb:

Well Zoobie explane this one if Utah was the horse how is it that a lowly horse gets invited to an aq conference and the Zoobie gets embarrassed by two aq conferences then pulls a power play stunt and gets Bitch slapped for it.

Jealousy is a horrible thing and BYU just cannot handle that Utah has passed them by. I hate Utah too, but what BYU has fallen to today would be sad if they weren't so deserving of being the old hooker that is face down, drunk in the gutter after having been reminded that 1984 was a hell of a long time ago - and the last time she really looked good was 10 years ago. And yes, I really do love insinuating that the holier than thou asshats are akin to hookers and drunks - no offense to either hookers or drunks.

Seems that we might have lost a little in the BYU death spiral - but I would guess that there are some MWC Presidents and ADs that are a little relieved that the high maintenance bastards are on their way out. Their President negotiates and signs that deal that creates the mtn. and now they use that as an excuse to bolt. That is freegin' rich. I say good riddance. We may lose in terms of the BCS - but that is a sham that will take a hell of a lot more than BYU pouting and taking their marbles and going home to fix.

Enjoy the West Coast Conference you milk drinkin', sanctimonious, 44 year old Freshmen havin' SOBs . Now the good porn lovin' folks in Evanston can finally get a magazine on any given Friday, especially when BYU is playing in Laramie the next day. Look out WCC, whoever the hell you are and wherever you play - I frankly only know one team that plays in the WCC and that's Gonzaga, who I think plays in Spokane. Just remember, never take just one of them fishin' with you or they'll drink all your beer.

Realistically, I don't think they will fail. However, they are going to have to explain a seriously problematic strength of schedule argument at the end of each year.

At this point, they have alienated the WAC and MWC. The only two regional pools of potential games for the coogs. I really doubt the big boys are going to go all out for home and homes with them, due to the risk factor and simply for the reason of 'Why the hell should we?'. Whats left? FCS and a bunch of Eastern schools. Maybe they get the academies to commit to something but again, not sure that helps with SOS in the end (not dissing AFA, Navy, or Army but trying to be honest).

Maybe they make a lot of money on BYU TV, maybe they don't. That is something we will have to wait and see. I don't know what advertising elephants they have lined up but I don't see much national appeal for big corps to put their dollars on there? :brick: Am I missing something?

Really, this is a big loser of a deal for them. They come off looking like spoiled little brats who pouted when their 'brother' got called up to the majors. They were publicly outed for being involved in questionable manipulations between conferences. They have dramatically toughened the ADs job of scheduling games for them. Finally, they seem to have substantially overestimated their national appeal.

I don't envy them, they have a tough row to hoe.

They must have gotten some powerful indications the Big XII-2 is interested in them. Or, they have perceived it that way.

I'm more interested in who we are looking at next (if anyone). Houston seems to be the obvious choice but why in the hell does USU and UTEP keep popping up?

Maybe if BYU wanted more exposure they should have tried something like Boise State, TCU or their big brother UTAH and WIN the conference and go undefeated so they could get to a BCS game!

To me they are the little kid on the playground who didn't get his way and is taking his ball somewhere else well enjoy the WCC wow sucks to be all the other sports at BYU.

BYU will not make it to the BCS now either b/c they will have a crappy schedule and will end up loosing a few games a year and they will not get a deal like Notre Dame. I hope they fail and try to come crawling back after the Big XII expands and passes them over!

Full disclosure I am a Mormon and HATE byu

I don't think their independence will last long. I think the big picture strategy for BYU is that they are setting themselves up to be an easy pickup for a super conference in the future. Without any conference attachment, they're an expeditious choice to invite into another conference.

But what conference? They're likely going to have to wait until Big 12 (10) falls apart. Pac-10 (12) would never ever let them in. No way, no how.

I guess the conference landscape can shift quickly, so anything could happen. I kind of feel bad for the few rational BYU fans who liked being in the MWC with its rivalries, not to mention all BYU athletes playing other sports than football. To all the fans that feel they've won the lottery, though: I hope your football program disappears into obscurity, and that the only reason teams schedule you in the future is because of the gimme W.

That these fans fail to see anything wrong with the scheming behind the scenes, knowing that their actions if successful likely would've killed the conference, is mind blowing. I have nothing against Utah. They didn't try to screw anybody over - they simply got an offer they couldn't refuse and left fair and square. Likewise, you can say Fresno and Nevada did a similar thing. They didn't try to scheme behind anybody's back. They had already let it be known that they'd be interested in "upgrading" by going to the MWC.
