Brett goes undrafted.

There are a lot of players that have gone undrafted and still made it, He has just as much of a chance to sign with a team undrafted and prove himself. It sucks he didn't get drafted and if I was him I would have waited longer to decide to declare and the QB depth would have made me re-think it but I have faith that he will still end up on a team and will turn out to be a successful QB.

Hell Gipson went undrafted and he made the all madden team last year, Brett will be fine but he will have to work 10 times as hard now. He is a hard worker he will pull it off.

Yes, tons of undrafted players still made it.

Not nearly as many as undrafted players who didn't make it, though.

Odds not in his favor. He's done well proving people wrong though...sort of.

Kurt Warner played in the arena league. Warren Moon played in Canada. I think those are legitimate options for Smith. I would be very surprised if he hooks on anywhere in the Nfl without proving himself in another league.

Garrett freaking Gilbert got picked ahead of him. If Brett is going to have a productive career it's going to be in the CFL.

No guarantee he won't be successful in the league but I will now admit it was a mistake to come out .

That being said if Brett does nothing more then be a practice player for a career that's not a bad living.

Brett Smith will always be one of the greatest Cowboys of all time but I never saw him as an NFL QB. This isn't surprising, although I am still pulling for him and wish him the best.

Seems like he got some bad advice. I remember seeing some people talking about potential 2nd round? Wow talk about being way off.

Sure there are stories of undrafted successes in the NFL, however for every undrafted player who makes it, how many don't? It's got to be a ridiculous number.

Or maybe he gets signed as FA by Denver post haste. Who knows.

I am wondering how many times Gipson will pick Manziel this spring.

Yea, I'll eat crow on that one. I still say he's as good as Manziel under the same circumstances.

I don't know about "tons". Most teams keep 2 qb's. Maybe they keep one on the practice squad. New England drafted a qb. So what happens to Ryan Mallet? I guarantee he gets a chance somewhere else before Smith. Many of the qb's drafted probably get cut. A backup qb is usually someone with some experience, like a Kyle Orton. Smith may hook on somewhere but he's going to have to get invited first. There are very few teams that will have any interest in him.

Manziel is quicker, faster, has a stronger arm, is more accurate, has better awareness in the pocket, and makes better decisions. If Manziel was on Wyoming last year, we win 9 games easy.

Also, let's not compare Smith to Warren Moon or Tom Brady. Those guys won Rose bowls and played in real conferences. Lot's of teams put up big numbers on Hawaii and Air force. I'm sorry you can't see that. But posters like you probably think we will be competitive with Oregon and Michigan state. How delusional.

You're an idiot Manziel would run out of the pocket when it wasn't even collapsing on him GTFO here with your idiocy.

Declaring for the NFL early to not get invited to the combine and not getting drafted was a HORRIBLE decision. No matter how it turns out.
