Wish we could have seen Buchanan win a national championship at Wyoming but happy to see him win!

He teched Hendrickson in the first period in the NCAAs several years ago. But Hendrickson has been wrestling internationally and putting the work in while Steveson has been learning how to act like he got hit in the head with a chair. It will he a little more interesting when those 2 face again I think.

That was an exciting match for sure. And what added to the hype was Steveson seemingly taking exception to the Air Force lieutenant having an American flag with him.

The way that Steveson dominated everyone in the tournament then Hendrickson with that late takedown and ride.. man. Hard to see that one coming. I thought we were going to see a Steveson pin after the first minute or so of the match. Be curious to see which of these two are the HWT rep in the 2028 Olympics.

There’s millions of dollars in MMA and much much less in Olympic wrestling. I think he goes MMA and tries to become the next Brock Lesnar (Minnesota NCAA HWT wrestling champ, dabbled in football and pro wrestling)…the similarities are apparent.

Great freestyle wrestler from Indiana who actually qualified and competed at the 2024 US olympic trials!

But his college career started as a top recruit to Oklahoma State, left after his freshman year for Iowa State, and then left Iowa State in the middle of this past season for 'personal reasons.' I would have to think he would choose the hometown Indiana given his apparent personal struggles in his previous two programs far away from his hometown.
