Wyoming opens +3 vs. Hawaii

Jrod. Is Woosley the guy that played against USC last year?
lol nope that was Graham hahahaha. Chow being a QB guru is the biggest lie anyone has ever said about the guy. All his QBs are horrible, and largely his fault.

Warriors could have beat USC if QB could hit wide open WRs. They were in that thing with good D but I noticed the QB was garbage

...and Washington, and Oregon State x2, and Fresno with Carr....the list goes on. The Chow era has been the most baffling era of Hawaii football...he has turned around the defense and special teams like June Jones never could, but the QB spot...Chow's supposed expertise, is all-time bad. Makes no sense at all.

Chow's teams are great at finding ways to lose winnable games. It has become part of the team's DNA.

Color me surprised that the spread is getting larger. Norm Chow's team's have a special ability at losing games, even ones it clearly feels like they should win (Washington for example). Wyoming's best player will be Norm Chow, he'll screw this up...I guarantee it. I can't see him beating a coach like Bohl at anything.
Keep in mind the Hawaiian population of Las Vegas- it's known as the "9th Island".

The wife and i are about to fly out to Honolulu in an hour! Already met a few other Pokes fans heading to the game as well. We opted for the convertible so I won't be able to sport our wyo flags i brought for the trip.

Hopefully the widening spread motivates the team.

I think the Poke defense needs to step up with a defensive score, or generate more turnovers, to push our scoring into the upper 20's. If the Pokes can do that this game, I'm pretty sure they win.

I predict a 27-20 victory.

I think Hawaii goes in with the lead at half 7-3. Then we finally wake up and finish strong winning 23-16. Hawaii's D is pretty stingy, especially on the island. But I think we will ware them down in the second half. In my prediction, 16 points is pushing it. But I think they will have good enough field position for 3 second half fgs. I also think we get our first int of the year.

That's going to be key to this game- we need to be positive on TO's, and we're due for an INT, especially against an offense like Hawaii's

Look, we're going to have trouble running against that PAC-12 sized d-line, the pass has to be established and used to keep Hawaii honest. Kirk's got to protect the ball, and not hesitate to get rid of it when he's flushed from the pocket, but our o-line has to give him enough time to hit some receivers who should match up favorably against a pretty porous Warrior secondary- we have the edge on speed and skill downfield. If we move the ball through the air, it's going to create opportunities for Wick and May to hit some open gaps. If May gets into their LB zone, I don't see anyone from Hawaii stopping him. If we succeed in some passing, look for a long TD run or two.

Keys to this game:

Give Kirkegaard some time to connect.
Kirk' needs to protect the ball, and avoid taking sacks.
Special teams needs to win the field position battle- not allow return yardage.
Convert on a Hawaii TO (defensive score).

Hit any 3 out of those 4, and we win the game.

My math has Hawaii racking up between 20 and 28 points and the Pokes 14 to 21. Not good but an honest appraisal. A few Poke turnovers and the Pokes are doomed.

Without Iosefa, who is reportedly out for this game, I just don't see Hawaii scoring more than 14-18, even with Graham taking snaps. While our offense has been rather inconsistent, which has led to few points, Hawaii is consistently bad, resulting in few points. This game will come down to field position, turnover conversion, and defense.

A couple of the Hawaii newspapers have mentioned that their top LB, who is second on the team in tackles, will be out. Gags have been reporting that their RB that was hurt may play, too.

According to a couple of Hawaii fans, Iosefa is not playing. He's done warm ups, and non-contact stuff, but no actual contact practices for him.

Ok thanks. I try to stay up on that stuff and always find I may as well just come here because I guess I don't follow the right feeds.
