Everyone is an armchair coach and knows better, Go coach a team if you know better.

2009 - 10-21 (3-13) RPI - (228)
2010 - 10-21 (3-13) RPI - (243)
2011 - 21-12 (6-8) RPI - (82)
2012 - 20-14 (4-12) RPI - (71)
2013 - 14-9 (5-5) RPI - (96) with 8 games to go.

If at the end of the season we are 15-16 (6-12) then you can bitch about this team not getting any better. Until then seriously STFU and enjoy the fact as a team we are getting better, Contrary to popular belief you don't turn a 10 win program around to contend for titles in 2 years.

Sure last year was rough we got really screwed going into conference play losing our #2 player on the roster but the simple fact is this team is better than it was a year ago and better than it was two years ago.
RPI improving means nothing if were not winning games.... Awesome we have a higher than normal RPI. We're still a shitty team. And why can't we be a contender now? CSU did it in one year.
I think you should change your name to ItSucksToBeACSURam to ItSucksToBeACSURamAndAnIdiotAboutBasketballToo.

Jes' sayin'...

Because I don't subscribe to the belief that good enough is good enough and believe we can be great now I'm and idiot about basketball huh?
I don't think anyone on this board would ever suggest I was one of the complacency brigade. Shyatt has shown consistent progress. This year, he is starting one senior. We have already beaten last season's conference record, with several games to go.

I know, the close losses are frustrating, and the frustration emotionally mounts, but Eustachy inherited a great deal of talent and cohesion whereas Shyatt stepped into fragmentation and a bare cupboard. It took Steve Fisher more than a decade to get SDSU to the level they're at now. To suggest that there's something lacking in the vision Shyatt has for Wyoming Basketball is, at this point, quite frankly, ludicrous.

It's hard to tell just where we are. While we have been competitive in every game, I think you have to question the strength of the conference this year. Frankly, I have been underwhelmed by the quality of the league this year. With the exception of SDS, it looks to me like most of the league (csewe, NM, Boise state, UNLV) are much weaker teams. USU and SJS are new to the league and not really very good, imo. So I would expect a few more wins.

So we have 8 conference games left. If we get 5 wins, that would be a very good result. Nance's injury needs to heal quickly for a 5 win scenario. I think our talent is ok. Frankly, it looks like we can beat nearly anyone or lose to anyone.
If anyone can right the ship, it's Shyatt. Remember, we had really bad results the last few years of McClain and the entire heath era. Plus, all those years on the MWC network where almost nobody saw us (probably a good thing).
One thing you have to love about Shyatt is the way he develops players. Nance, Adams, Grabau, and Sobey are all better players now than when they first got here.

How many are watching us now since we aren't on that shitty MWC network?

Since the Mtn Network went away, I for one, have seen a lot more games. I don't have the luxury of living close enough to go see games, and it's been awesome to see the Pokes play just about every game. While some may bitch and moan about not being able to see games from within the state, the Pokes really do have a much broader viewing coverage than before...and that helps recruiting. Quite a bit.

It does suck to lose so many of these close games, and I do think that this team is playing a little below it's level by not winning these close ones, but the program has improved from a year ago. And maybe they haven't improved as much as some of you guys would like, I want them competing for championships too, but sometimes a program just needs to experience some growing pains before getting back to the top. I wouldn't get too discouraged though, we're in the middle of a tough stretch of schedule that I think most realized was at a level that we aren't ready for yet. We still have a young team with a thin bench and nobody that had experience in tight games prior to this season.

We aren't done picking up wins this season however. I don't see any reason why we can't beat AFA, Fresno, and CSU at home and win 1-2 of our remaining road games as well. USU, CSU, and SJSU are far cries from UNLV, UNM, and Nevada IMO. We won't finish high in the conference this year, and probably won't make a big tourney run either, but I really think that we have more excitement in store for next year. And it's not like all the times we said "Wait till next year" with McClain's and Shroyer's groups when it was just words so we wouldn't get pissed off anymore, I really believe it this time.

good moral victory yet again, kinda gets old, but happy it wasn't blow out central, I forsee a long win streak after this loss, call me crazy
