If Nance's groin is fine, SDSU is losing their first conference game on Tuesday.

This team is SO close. So frustrating.

Except UNLV. They didn't do a very good job of preventing it or stopping it. Nance got exactly where he wanted to go and got a clean look. If Larry was healthy I wouldn't have a problem with it. I just think it is too much to ask with him fighting the groin injury. I also prefer to go for the win on the road rather than OT.
 
Damn it! Let me coach the last 1:30 of these games. You must put some heat on a PG - you don't just let him stand out there - make him work - make him think of you instead of surveying the field. And of course EVERYBODY, even my dog, knew Nance was going to force a last shot in close,hoping for a bucket plus one.
 
I think on the road there you should have just went for the 3 for the win. Give Adams the ball at the top and let him drive and then kick it out to either Riley or Granberry and let them fire it up at the buzzer and you either win it or lose it anyways.

Oh well onto the next one. Hey guys atleast we never get blown out by anyone and we are in every game haha

Nance missing shots at the end of the game with it on the line is the only consistent thing about this damn team. It's getting old. Make a change, throw the defenders a curve, you know....."COACH"......what a weird concept.

Life of a Wyoming fan. If we aren't sucking atrociously (speaking of which, Heath Bar is looking a little rough nowadays), we are losing in the heartbreaking fashion.

Plenty of missed opportunities (Adams missed two layups in the last 10 minutes or so), but I do respect the effort and execution of this team.

While I know it is a mantra for Wyoming fans, this is one time that I actually believe the following: Wait till next year. This will be a veteran, well coached team. Need to find another body down low and probably someone off the bench to play the wing, but this group will learn from all of these heartbreaking losses.

Honestly I wouldn't bitch too much about the coaching we have. With the team we have the fact we are in every game is because of the coaching. Most coaches wouldn't even have this team in the game at the end of it like this coaching staff has. Yeah it sucks that we have lost every game this year closely but we also aren't getting blown out by anyone.

Who else in the country hasn't been blown out this year except for the top 10 teams in the country? Probably not many teams.

We could make a run in the MWC tourney.

We could also get blown out by Fresno in game one. The difference between us and the teams that haven't been blown out is that they win at least some...We have 9 games of losses under 8 points and 6 under 3 points. Thats the different between us being top of the shit heap and in the mix for a conference championship. Its that simple. Were a good enough team to not get blown out but apparently aren't good enough to win close ones.

All that matters is W/L of course. However, as a fan, I do feel there is value in being in every game. How many times during Schroyer's era or McClain's last few years did we just give up (the Utah game in the A-A was where I gave up on Steve McClain entirely)? That doesn't happen here and it is valuable. We also have won some close games (South Dakota in OT, Nevada at home, the BSU and AFA games on the road that we absolutely stole, very similar to tonight except for the finish, etc.). Overall, in the 50/50 games we are only getting about 40%. We are close. Not where we need to be, but close.
