Wyo-UNLV game AD problems

For anyone who was at the game last night and tried to enter the doors to the AA closest to the football stadium, how many found a line 40-50 deep prior to tip and find that that one of the entrances was blocked off? Was it not -8 degrees around that time? Have crowds not been dismal so far this season? So by the time I finally got to the door a person in front of me asked a ticket taker to explain why only one door was being used and his response was "we are understaffed" and moved on to the next person. I find this to be a huge problem and lack of leadership that goes from the ticket office to security, to CJC to AD Burman. How can you not do a better job to service the fans? Maybe the results from the report that Sternberg had done is true? Good enough is good enough at Wyoming under Burman. If I were shyatt I'd be pissed that the AD isn't doing whatever possible to welcome fans and retain them. No surprise that fans to sellout the venues. If I didn't have season tickets already paid for, not sure I would return to a game this year. Customer Service 101!

Understaffed? They have about 30 disposable staff checking tickets once you actually get into the AA. I noticed the same problem last night.

First of all Burman is a terrible AD/manager and if he worked for a private company he would have been fired long ago. Take your vengeance out on him with emails sent to anyone at UW who will listen including Shyatt, but dont take it out this team, they deserve all the support they can get.

You notice they aren't stopping old fucks and kids from sitting in the student section. They only care about the rules if you donate to the university and buy season tickets. Alienating the majority of the fan base is going to cost the university in the long run. I know I don't plan on donating to UW ever in my life because of the way they pamper the elite and ignore the rest.

You think if you were an Alabama fan who donated nothing you'd be treated better than "the elite" and "those who have donated".....? Haha dream on. They're treated different because they give money. You really think you should be treated the same as, say, Morrie Brown?

I'm saying if you're going to protect the inner bowl for season ticket holders then you better protect the inner bowl for students. The next Morrie Brown may be in that student section and tell the university to fuck off in the future when he or she has money. My point is UW is alienating the people who may someday have money and it's going to cost them. That clearly went over your head.

Nothing went over my head. It's Christmas break, there are no students to fill that section. And you can't cater to those who "may" donate over those who have. Clearly that's gone over your head.

Not every single issue goes back to the AD.

Actually every single issue related to athletics and how they are handled all eventually lead back to the AD.

I meant athletics department with the AD abbreviation, however I disagree with your statement as the AD is the person in charge and he/she is responsible for everything that goes on with in the department.

I am not surprised but am disappointed by this thread.

Yet another example of a Wyo fan having major issues with the way Wyo athletics are being ran.
If it were 1 or 2 fans bitching on here I would take it with a grain of salt. But when there are as many AD Bitching threads as game threads you know there is an issue.

Regardless, there was a good energy there NYE!!! hopefully we can keep that up, we got loud when needed!!

It sure does, it is his department, his job to oversee. The understaffing was ridiculous considering how many security people they have inside the arena. Hire some damn bodies to take tickets for an hour, not that complicated. It really is no wonder why our attendance lacks and continues to decline. Burman is just terrible and nothing will change until the name on his office door changes.

To respond to people sitting in the student section post: I heard that the Athletics department had a promotion to buy a ticket and "be a student for a game" to sit in that section and receive a gift as well. Pretty good idea since students are on break.

Better do it again for the SDSU game.

I believe that's for the women's game this Saturday, but I could be mistaken

He may oversee the entire department, but he hires people to oversee different areas of the department. Like Joe Verschueren, Assistant AD in Ticketing & Sales. Or Tyson Drew, Assistant AD in Facility Operations/Event Management. Maybe you should direct your concern at those people, since they are more closely linked to the issue because it's in their area of the department that you have a problem with.

And who is their boss? That is where the buck stops. It is Burman's responsibility to oversee his employees and address these issues. It certainly not the fans' responsibility to contact any Assistant AD. Get real....

If you have a problem with your ticket to a Denver Nuggets game, do you go to the ticket office or do you contact Stan Kroenke?

If I had access to Kroenke contact info, that is exactly where I would start. That is how the real world and business works. Burman gets paid a public salary to handle the athletic department, his responsibility, period.
