WYO @ SJSU

Well umm...don't let the hangover spill into yet ANOTHER road loss in the state of California.

Pokes absolutely have to win this game on the road, and I expect they will, but Wyo really just needs to take care of business.

After checking the schedules of UNLV and Nevada, I think both teams end up dropping some games and we get into 3rd by the end of the season.

If and this is a huge if, The Cowboys play any of the remaining games like they played last night they win them all. We have been close with every game we have been within 1-2 possessions in nearly all of them. Maybe last night was a turning point and maybe it wasn't but the game they played last night other than some unforced turnovers is about as good as I've seen in a while.

The SJSU game is more of a must win than the SDSU game was. The SDSU win was a huge win for our program but a game that we weren't necessarily expected to win. On the other hand the SJSU game is most certainly a game were expected to win if were going to contend for the 3/4/5 seed in the MWC tourny.

Having said that any road game in the conference is a potential loss, so hopefully we can take the momentum from the SDSU game and parlay that into a nice little run going forward.

The next step in progression is knowing how to handle success and some national attention. There is no doubt whatsoever that we're the better team, so it all depends on us and whether or not we're going to execute our game plan.

I'm honestly not too worried that we overlook this one, we've played well enough that every game still matters in terms of tournament seeding, and as long as we keep the attitude that we're fighting for the 3 seed, even games against inferior opponents should get us pumped.

I noticed that Bentz got some playing time in the last two games (but yet Washington didn't see action against SDSU). Bentz is very active and determined when he is in, but I think it is crucial to sub these players more often for when tournament time comes around and it is possible to play three games in three nights. And fatigue will affect the starters in this case.

I was shocked Bentz was in instead of Washington but I can only assume the reasoning has to do with the end stretch of the schedule and having everyone prepared.

Bentz and Sellers got real minutes during the New Mexico game, and we barely skipped a beat. It's huge to get those guys some minutes before the conference tournament.

Wyoming will lose again. Its inevitable for all teams in the MWC....but this team will not lose to a team win-less in the MWC.

Washington looked like he didn't want to be there during warmups last night. And when ESPN showed the team after the game in the locker room he was the only one sitting and didn't look very happy. I would really like to know wtf is going on with him.
The kid has the potential to be a huge impact player for us if he just learns to play with the team instead of be a one man show

There are very few conference road games that I would be upset/surprised about the Pokes losing, but SJSU is one of them. SJSU is a very, very bad basketball team. There would be no excuse for dropping this game.

Looking ahead, I'd predict the Pokes finishing 4-3 to end up at 10-8 in the conference. That will be good for anywhere from 4th to 6th depending on how Nevada and Boise State close out the season. I think UNLV will be able to get to 11 wins and wrap up the 3rd seed. I just don't see us pulling out road wins at Utah State or At CSU and Boise State is going to be a tough game even in the AA. None of those games are locks to be losses, but the others aren't locks to be wins either.

I have to say, I'd be pretty damn pleased with a 10-8 MWC record this season. Definitely would have exceeded what I would have predicted prior to the season. There are definitely some things to look forward to with Wyoming basketball in both the near and distant future.

Why wasn't Keonta even on the side lines?

TheRealUW, if Wyo goes 4-3 from here on out, that is a TOTAL failure. At worst they should go 5-2. They will likely go 6-1, maybe 7-0.

4-3 just shows that after a big win they don't have the ability to win another big game, or hard game.

ONLY loss should come at USU, if there is a 2nd loss it should be against Boise.
We should sweep CSU, beat SJSU, beat Fresno, and beat AFA

I think the road game against CSU is tougher than the Boise game. The must wins are SJSU, Fresno, AFA, and CSU at home. The other three games could go either way.

Completely agree with everything you said.

I agree. I think we will win 2 of those games though and go 6-1 the rest of the way. Not sure which one we will drop but I think from least toughest to toughest is boise, @CSU, @ USU.

agreed this is a game we cannot sleep on, they just don't know how to win and it showed against Air Force last night. If Wyoming plays it's game and does all the things that makes it successful then we'll be ok, if things change up and we get outta our style then we may have a road hangover....this could be the start of a great win streak, but that game in Logan, UT scares the hell outta me tough place to play those students are relentless, i forsee in the last 7 we go 5-2, losing to CSU at their barn and in Logan...hope it's better than that. GO POKES, GET THE SPARTANS

maybe the coach and him are having issues, he has the potential i think he thinks he's better than he really is, but he's a good weapon to pull off the bench, just hope he gets some more P.T upcoming

Why all this speculation about Trey?
Have you guys not seen him be totally turn-over prone in big games?
He take AWFUL shots, and can't dribble against the big boys.
He has NO confidence.
And this isn't one of those situations where you play him until he gets it.

Jack Bentz doesn't turnover the ball that's why he was in against SDSU instead of Washington.

Beaver? Jack Bentz? FFS.

2013-14 Wyo 11 0 57 2 3 0 0 2 2 0 7 9 1 0 5 3 6

That 5 is turnovers. The 57 is total minutes. The 6 is of course points. He bloweth.
