I would love to see the Cowboys beat TCU, however, it TCU wins and goes to a $14 million BCS bowl, Wyoming (and the rest of the conference schools) would receive a $1+ million parting gift.
Those 7 turnovers ALL came from our quarterback, nonetheless. Worst game I have been to.calpoke25 said:WYO1016 said:No more of this "I won't feel so bad if TCU wins" talk on this board! Take that crap to the mwc board if you must, but here TCU is the enemy. I'm expecting a win on Saturday, no less. We have had the frogs' number in Laramie since they came into the conference, and I expect that trend to continue. GO POKES!!!
I wouldn't say 2005 was having their number. We never seemed to recover as a program from that loss at home against TCU. We were returning a lot from the Vegas Bowl team, off to a great 4-1 start getting votes in the polls. Had we won that game we would have moved into the top 25. But they beat us with our 7 turnovers and we never recovered.

In my mind, the teams are pretty much equally matched, except TCU has started executing on offense as of late, whereas they were not earlier in the season. I will always cheer for Cowboys to win, but I'm also realistic enough to realize that it will take a miracle to win this one. Most of all, I want the Cowboys to come out of this one without any key injuries, as losing to the sheep would be awful.

I'm guessing you didn't make it to the BYU game a few weeks ago...

The "purse" if you call it that...is different than that. I was told that a BCS game for the MWC equals about 9 million to pay out, to all non-AQ conference school members / teams (39). That would equal roughly 230K per school...UW included.
Like I said above, UW first always!

I stand corrected.

Everything I have heard has always been that the way the MWC is setup any profits from bowl games are split 50/50 between the school that plays and the conference (which then divvies it up to the other teams). For instance a bowl payout of 1 million dollars would result in 500K for the team that played and the other 500K being split amongst the rest of the teams. My understanding has always been that the BCS bowl game payout is the same. It doesn't make much sense that the money would have to be split with all non-bcs teams, but then again the whole BCS is a BS system so it wouldn't surprise me either.
