Ja'Chai Baker. 6'5" or 6'6". They don't fit our profile for DEs. We recruit fast undersized guys for DE and put weight on them. When we're further along in our program, they'll all redshirt to get weight on. If they were 6'6" 220, I'd see them as an eventual DE, but these guys aren't particularly fast and if they aren't on the OL, they could be DT. I expect most of them to be on the OL
At his size, Stofer is already comparable to Granderson's build. I don't see why he couldn't come in and play right away as a DE.

But I do think the initial plan is for most of these guys to start on offense.

I saw stofer and the other guy were in the 250's and thought about that too. We'd have to see how quick they were by watching their film. By no means should we be shooting for 210lb DEs but it's worked well for Granderson. As a high school kid it's probably be nice to get fast 230/235lb kid And put weight on them. If they're heavier than that it highschool, it doesn't seem like the have the speed to be DE. I'm talking about Wyoming profile recruits of course. The alabamas of the world are able to get the 270lb DEs coming out of highshool with freak speed. That's why they're 4 and 5 star guys. We develop lighter faster guys and put weight on at every position. Not ideal, but once we have depth, we will be able to redshirt a lot more. I see nothing wrong with having 6'6" 295lb DTs

Not all DEs have to be speed guys like Granderson or Kevin Prosser. Think bigger, to help against the run. Usually one is more run oriented and the other a pure speed rusher. Then on passing downs sub out the bigger guy for more speed.

True Dat. Get the big boy package in on run downs

I haven't watched the DEs in the pros as much but i do notice they go smaller with DTs on obvious passing situations. Mostly watching Unrein. He was always in there for run downs but if it was 3rd and long, the line would have a speed pass rush look to it, even at DT

I agree w/ lax. Rudy seems like a DT all the way. He seems quick (like first step w/ good anticipation), but I don't think he's got the speed to play DE. With 40 more lbs he could make a dominant DT.

As lax said, for DE we take kids with speed and put weight on them (Prosser, Windsor). Can't teach speed and quickness, but you can definitely put weight on someone.

If I'm not mistaken, most of the Twitter guys are talking Offense for him?

Yeah we got off topic. We believe they're all OL but you never know once they get here and we were talking about them on the DL
