I'd say-
UNLV, New Mexico and Air Force are above us.
Nevada and North Dakota St are probably on par with us.
Hawaii is below us due to the geography.
Hopefully San Jose St would be below us.
Northern Illinois and UTEP are comfortably at the very bottom of the list

I agree with this. It's crazy that New Mexico is above us given the complete dumpster fire they have been for 20 years in Football. It is amazing how 1 great year and 1 great coach can change the perception. I think we are actually viewed by sports minds to be the Craig Bohl 7 or 8 win teams right now but we are 1 or 2 more terrible years to being back to the Vic Koening perception of Wyoming. You put 3 years in a row of being terrible and you get labeled that for the next few years.

I count Arizona and Arizona State to that list as well.

Teams above that couldn't be in the same room as Wyoming in the 60s. Sad--so sad

Since the inception of the MWC:

UNM 8 winning records in conference
WYO 7 winning records in conference

UNM 74-133 in conference
WYO 77-129 in conference

Last 4 seasons:
UNM 0-8 to 6-2
WYO 5-3 to 2-6

The current preseason hype will always be based on last season and the number of returning players. Wyoming has shown poorly for 2 consecutive seasons.

I don’t like saying it, but Wyoming has been a member of the MWC dumpster fire brigade and is firmly entrenched as a premier member of the dumpster fire brigade until the program shows signs of life. Wyoming is only .039 better than UNLV, .023 better than Hawaii and .017 better than UNM in the MWC win column. SJSU and Nevada have a better conference winning percentage than Wyoming and AFA is the only original member remaining with a winning record in MWC play. If Wyoming doesn’t improve in 2026, UNLV, UNM and Hawaii could jump Wyoming in MWC winning percentage.

Of all the programs that have blown off the MWC, only the sheep have a sub .500 conference record going 94-110 during their membership.

It’s a sad fact that Wyoming has been a dominant bottom feeder football program in 27 seasons of the MWC.
