UW vs. Nevada

Stream has not been connecting for me the entire time but from audio sounds like the cowboys played like shit basically. Also sounds like a lot of fouls weren't called that could have been but I didn't see them so I don't know for sure.

Larry would you please recruit a supporting cast for Grabau and Nance. Washington has shown flashes of being good give him a chance, and Derek Cooke is not the answer down low. We need to find another forward, why hasn't Haldorson been playing this year, there is no way he is a step down from Cooke. That was the worst basketball I have seen in a long time. Wyoming is the Bottom 3 this year with Air Force and San Jose State

Nance lost this game. How many shitty shots did he take, including the last one? He should know better. Shyatt should know better. In my opinion, this game defines the season. Maybe next year.

Kevin always makes it sound like lots of fouls don't get called.

I do not think we played particularly badly apart from taking bad shots. We just are too small to dominate the glass. Defense looked good.

I do wonder about no one crashing the boards on the offensive end. Our offensive sets really are not looking for second chance, put-back points.

Nance had double digits in points. You cannot pin it on Nance. He also had some realy good assists that went for 3s.

Im usually the ultimate optimist, but my goodness, Wyoming handed Nevada this game on a silver platter. Pitiful performance in crunch time, no one wanted to step up, unbelievably frustrating

I am totally ok with him getting the last shot but what is with this shitty fade away garbage prayer shot he suddenly loves? LEARN that if they arent calling fouls for you change it up. Good god. That was ridiculous. A conference road game we certainly shouldve won. That Nevada team is not good. We gave them a gift. God I am pissed. If I was a drinker I'd be getting smashed tonight. F

Terrible end of game management. With a minute and a half left we burn all 35 seconds, don't even realize the shot clock is running out, get no shot off, and get a shot clock violation. Our defense is then swiss cheese giving Nevada an easy layup to take the lead. Then burn the remaining clock till there is no time off and throw up an off balance shot that doesn't even hit the basket. Won't win many games managing the end of a tight game like that

Figures. I'm going back to us maybe getting 4 to 6 conf wins this season. This was just as bad a loss as Fresno was last year.

That was not the only bad, off-balance shot we took down the stretch. We had a chance to make it a two-point game and tried an ally-oop to Adams when he was too deep in the lane. It missed and then Nevada went the other direction and took the lead on a nice, squared-up, on-balance jump shot.

At the end, I was less worried about a close shot than I was about someone taking a fundamentally sound shot.

I would say this is accurate. 5-13 or 6-12 probably. Really bad team right now and not sure how it gets better.

We are once again terrible in both revenue sports. At what point do we stop cycling through coaches and make some real fundamental changes in leadership (AD) and structure (budgets, facilities)?

Ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner. When you're down by one at the end of the game with the ball, YOU TAKE THE FIRST BEST SHOT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE in order to give yourself enough time to foul on a miss and still get the ball back. Not sure what Coach Shy was thinking there.

Dumb end of game management, like someone else said.

Man, they wasted the first 22 seconds of that final possession. They were just keeping it outside. Nance didn't even start moving until the very end. No wonder he got off a bad shot. He had no time to create the shot he wanted.
I put this on Shyatt.

And, really get a supporting cast for Grabau and Nance? For like the 100th time, JOSH ADAMS.

This is on Shyatt.

Unless Shyatt changes the stragedy for the remaining season, given the players he has, this is a losing season. Shyatt: play a more "open game". More like Adams plays. Pressure on defence. All the time. Don't fiddle-fart around getting the perfect shot - GET TO THE HOOP! Crash the boards. Every time. You have players that compete with DII in your style, but not with Mountain West. Adjust, Shyatt, adjust. Adjust to the players you have. Don't make them adjust to you.

We do need a real big that takes some pressure off of Nance, but this is not the NBA where we can make mid-season trades.

What gets to me is that we have struggled to find a scoring 3-man but this player was available coming out of Fort Collins-Fossil Ridge High School and was to top 5A scorer in Colorado as a senior. I even sent the staff an email with his name and some Denver Post coverage highlighting his performance and community involvement. Chris Hansen: http://www.isubengals.com/news/2013/12/16/MBB_1216131633.aspx?path=mbball Incidentally, he ended up going to Powell for a year where he was in the top handful of scorers in NJCAA Region IX before going on to Idaho State for his sophomore season where he was the leading scorer (yet again).

I went to the MWC site because that's where it was supposed to be but for some technical reason, as always, it wouldn't connect so.......I went to a pirated site and there it was clear as a bell.

Pretty good when the site, MWC, who was broadcasting it couldn't even get it loaded on their own page.

Prior to the season starting, I thought this bunch would go 10-3 OOC, and 10-8 in MWC play. Now I think we will be lucky to go 5-13 in the MWC and will probably end up staying home when the season is over (lose again in the first round of the MWC tournament). We have no rebounders, no bigs that can play (other than Nance) and our offensive sets are just about as predictable as the football team's were. If Shyatt can't pull a rabbit out of his ass, I think this is going to be a long, painful year in basketball. Thank goodness we have the women's team to root for.

We won't win many games when Nance goes 5-15 from the field. We got a whole 6 points from the bench. Our talent is not going to scare any teams in the MWC. The 2 guys who were supposed to make a big difference are nearly invisible. Either Shyatt isn't the guy or Schroyer destroyed the program beyond repair.

It seems like a thousand centuries ago when we had Brad Jones and Brandon Ewing in the same backcourt. I'm ready to bring McClain back. This basketball is unwatchable.

I think Shyatt has missed on too many recruits so far and it's showing. There's 5 players on Scholly who don't even play.
