Haven't posted for a couple weeks...and for good reason(s). I took my advise from last year, and decided to avoid posting the day of / day after losses. One week led to another...and I have spent a good amount of time reading through all threads. We are a pretty entertaining bunch! From fire the coach, to give it 7 years, to drop down a level, and everything in between. And a few new posters...YabadabaDino, Stutzreim, etc. Good stuff
And now...for just a few of my thoughts:
1. Can't blame this horrific start / debacle on Burman. Although I would certainly like to, this isn't on him (at least not right now, and not just these 2 losses - it is deeper than that). Burman first deserved to have his job be hedged on Schroyer. And he next deserved to have his job be hedged on Dickface. And he deserves to have his job now hedge on Bohl...3 strikes in the major revenue sports, I guess. So we will see if Bohl turns into Vic, or gets it going. Jury is out now more than ever. Surely Burman drops down to his knees on a daily basis, and thanks everyone and the sweet Lord that Shyatt was handed to him. Can you imagine...if we had Schroyer caliber teams in the AA still?
2. I think the "implement his system" or "recruit his guys" are bullshit excuses. He had what, 20 seniors on the squad last year? A year we basically were a 2 & 10 team (I mean come on, FAU & AFA should have been losses). He had time to recruit the first class, but elected (and was allowed) to stay at NDSU and win another championship. As odd as that whole process was, we are paying for it now. Can Bohl & staff recruit an entire class of FBS athletes / players? Can he recruit one or two, here or there - yep, so far that is what he has accomplished. Can he (and his staff) really evaluate the talent / athletes UW needs to have to be MWC champions? Doesn't appear to look that way. And yes, we are certainly young, but so is Florida State & NCST (who by the way is playing more Freshman / RS Freshman that we are right now).
3. Sadly, these 2 losses are the worst in modern - day Wyoming football history (40 years let's say). There is more important shit to do with my time & money, than continually invest and watch a product that isn't as passionate about itself...as I am about it. I feel for these kids - they are under coached and over matched. Apathy say you? No, it is much worse than that. This is fanbase changing bad. As in, like what happened to the Wyoming basketball fanbase during the Buckymac & Schroyer debacle (that is all on Burman by the way). We are still recovering in the AA (and we are MW-Fucking-C champions)! I am afraid, after this year on the gridiron, we are going to have to re-implement the "strive for 20k fans in the stands" all over again. We are going to see levels of fan support drop so low, that they will rival San Jose State.
Enough for now...
