Just curious, other than Heath Schroyer and Sternberg who exactly have I ``crucified.'' I usually get criticized for being too supportive. And the only tools I have are the same tools you have -- a message board. I am just willing to put my name on my posts and take the heat for what I say.

I never had a beef with wanting the University of Wyoming to be the best it can possibly be.
There are so many issues I have already mentioned that nobody seems to care about so they are obviously unimportant.

Why should I tell you my name, so I can be the target of the next Tracy Ringolsby crusade for athletics mediocrity? No thanks. I will hide behind a message board handle. I'm a nobody. I never played for Wyoming, I never worked for the athletics department. I've been a 100 dollar member of CJC three out of the last six years and a football season ticket holder for 4 of the last 6, making the drive from Buffalo six to ten times a year(spending a couple hundred bucks in Laramie each time I go). You could say, I'm just an average fan that was excited for change.

You are in a lot of peoples eyes, a roll model. You're in the baseball hall of fame. You have media connections out the ass. People respect your opinion. If they see you write and print something they think it's true. They look up to you because you're a hall of fame baseball writer that knows a lot about sports.

You're dodging the issue. What do you think the chances are that the new president has a vision for athletics similar to Sternberg? What do you think the chances are the next president thinks it's a good idea to increase our athletics budget by 4 million dollars? That's what Bob was trying to do.

Do you really think Wyoming athletics is in a better place now that you helped get Sternberg fired? Do you believe that the next president is going to prioritize athletics at all? Do you think he's going to dream of a university that wins football and basketball titles as the expectation instead of the 25 year exception?

The money he used was budgeted in the President's own funding. He actually had a vision for once in a extremely long time at this university and would have thrown us forward out of mediocrity and maybe become a competitive university. This university has been in a downward slide the last several years, only five years ago we were ranked the 13th best public university by Forbes, and now we are sitting way outside of the top 100. We need a visionary to take our university forward academically and athletically, and when we finally do he gets run out of town. I do not understand the hate for Sternberg Tracy, and yes I have seen your reasons.

It is a bit over dramatic to say TR fired Sternberg. I thought Sternberg was the right choice for president, and believed he would have had athletics in the right direction if he wasn't fired. All I can tell you is in the last four months money that was not in the budget approved by the legislature was spent. Whether got approval or not, I cannot tell you.
And I haven't had a vendetta since day one. I was pretty oblivious. I thought the hire was a strange one but I wasn't privy to what the determing factors were and figured whoever made the decision had sound reason. As things unfolded, however, I saw a series of events that created concern. As I said in the past to you if you want to talk about it I am available. Even emailed you my phone number but I guess then maybe you would get information that didn't fit your desires so just continuing ranting.
I can say I have posted nothing that I have not expressed to Dr. Sternberg.
There is very little that happens in any of the colleges or at Old Main that creates much emotion in me. I am not an educator or administrator and have to trust the people in charge are doing the best they can. But I am very much a believer in treating people you work with or who work for you with respect. Sorry you take it all so personal.
