I thought journalists were supposed to be biased. One of your buddies must have been the guy that Sternberg insulted at a CJC event. The journalistic crap you pulled on this should make you sick, it does me. You talked about all the crap Sternberg was doing without backing any of it up with evidence, slandered him as much as you could, and never provided any information to prove what he did wrong. He mishandled a firing. Who gives a crap? Just tell us the truth, he fired one of your buddies and threatened the sub .500 power network you and the crew have in place.
You got your way. Sternberg got fired. What do you and the boys have planned next, because as I see it, we're a lot more fucked right now then we were yesterday.
What's the good ol' boy plan moving forward? Who do you think is going to take the job now, or do you guys already have somebody in place?
Keep inviting a bunch of journalists out here for a game. That will help. All that does is nationally cement the fact that Wyoming is a damn joke and has been that way since you ran Tiller out of town.
Sternberg had a plan to increase our athletics budget, to give us the tools to compete in the MWC and you got his ass fired. Congrats Tracy, because we aren't going to find anyone to replace him that is going to move forward with his plan to make Wyoming athletics relevant.
You and your buddies are the reason that good enough is good enough because you would rather be in control and lose for 20 years straight then you would surrender control and let someone else win.
You've alienated more Wyoming fans today then you did bring them back.
Pat yourself on the back. You just killed the Wyoming athletics plan and will be rewarded with another 25 years as a national joke.
Dream up whatever scenario you want.
I never saw Sternberg at a CJC event. I haven't even been to a CJC event since he was hired. So wrong on that.
I don't know any of the people who resigned or were fired so having nothing at stake in that.
And if you really think I have the power to get somebody fired then you are very naive.
I have never patted myself on the back.
But go ahead, hide behind your nickname, don't follow up on the conversation you supposedly want to have and don't approach me to talk about the situation.
Very brave with your accusations as you hide behind a fake name.
Why should I tell you my name, so I can be the target of the next Tracy Ringolsby crusade for athletics mediocrity? No thanks. I will hide behind a message board handle. I'm a nobody. I never played for Wyoming, I never worked for the athletics department. I've been a 100 dollar member of CJC three out of the last six years and a football season ticket holder for 4 of the last 6, making the drive from Buffalo six to ten times a year(spending a couple hundred bucks in Laramie each time I go). You could say, I'm just an average fan that was excited for change.
You are in a lot of peoples eyes, a roll model. You're in the baseball hall of fame. You have media connections out the ass. People respect your opinion. If they see you write and print something they think it's true. They look up to you because you're a hall of fame baseball writer that knows a lot about sports.
You're dodging the issue. What do you think the chances are that the new president has a vision for athletics similar to Sternberg? What do you think the chances are the next president thinks it's a good idea to increase our athletics budget by 4 million dollars? That's what Bob was trying to do.
Do you really think Wyoming athletics is in a better place now that you got Sternberg fired? Do you believe that the next president is going to prioritize athletics at all? Do you think he's going to dream of a university that wins football and basketball titles as the expectation instead of the 25 year exception?
Good job Tracy. We're not going to find anybody that wants to drive athletics forward, and you're a big reason why Robert Sternberg will be doing for another university what he should have been doing for Wyoming.
