Texas Fans - Game Day Weather

I talked to a meteorologist in our area today, and here is what is in store for weather in Laramie for Saturday:

There is a cold front that will come through the area on Friday morning early. The Saturday morning temp may very well be in the 30's with the high temp in the high 50's or low 60's. There is a good chance of showers. The wind should be from the NE at around 15 mph.

Looks like I'll be busting out the burnt orange pullover for this game! I believe the weather will be a pleasant surprise for most Texas fans.

Yeah, the weather is one thing we are looking forward to the most. I love cold weather, so it wont bother me anyway. After sitting through the snow game in Lincoln, I'm up for anything.

In all likelyhood the weather should be very pleasant. Crisp and clear. However, remember that Laramie is nestled between ranges and sits at 7200 feet. A game that kicks off with clear skies and 65 degrees could very well see snow by the fourth quarter. And take all forcasts with a grain of salt. Bring clothes for all weather.

Also, UV rays at 7200 ft often react strangely with different colors. Orange in particular is dangerous, so you best leave those clothes at home. To avoid getting your tongue and hands burned by the high UV you should keep your mouth closed and hands in your pockets at times.

Very sage advice, cheypoke! Glad to see someone is looking out for our friends from TX ;)

Hilarious! Nice!

It wouldnt surprise me to see some scattered rain come Saturday (I'm a weatherman, too). Earlier in the week it looked like Laramie would be clear and dry, but the latest model runs show a large cut-off low regressing into Wyoming and southern Montana by Saturday. The Cheyenne NWS office forecast has revised their forecast to "mostly cloudy" to reflect this. But if the models continue to show this feature, I bet they'll introduce at least a slight chance of rain by then.

Yes indeed the forcast is evolving. Highs of mid 50's and lows in the mid 30's.

Yep, now a high of 57. With rain. Wait until tomorrows forcast..."snow above 7000 feet" is on its way!?!

McPeachy, it wouldnt suprise me. Wouldnt that be hilarious?! I love how the crowd goes nuts the first time it starts to snow at a Poke game. Its been such a hot summer in Texas, their fans would probably cheer too.

Updated:

High of 54 with scattered thunderstorms. 15 mph winds out of the east, 50% chance of precipitation.

I love it. Football season (and especially the big games therein) deserves football weather!
