SDSU @ 25Wyoming

Can't quite make it over the hump can we!

Waste 2+ minutes giving up o-boards.
Can't hit a fucking shot.
SDSU shoots way over their season average at FT line.

I thought refs were pretty good. They let the game play. I thought they got away with quite a bit on rebounding. A lot of over the backs and shoving. Game still came down to when they hit three 3's and we got no points

Agree on all counts except the reffing. They didn't start calling fouls on SDSU until it was too late for us .
 
Got exposed tonight. With about 6 minutes left in the game I looked up and saw three out of the five players on the court for Wyoming had zero points.

Simply can't win many games when we can't get into the paint, waste 30 seconds of the shot clock, can't handle the ball pressure. Refs are not too blame. My fears about this teams lack of depth, inability to create shots outside of Adams and Nance and 3 point defense came to fruition today.
 
Hopefully we can move on and clean up the unforced turnovers and get another road win. If we are truly top 3 we need to beat Fresno on e road
 
Wyoming simply did not match the intensity level of SDSU. The kids were busy reading the nice comments in the press/Internet and forgot that top 25 rating means shit if you can't back it up. Being rated was probably the worst thing that could happen to this team. Now, after getting their collective asses handed to them, they might wake the fuck up and get back to playing like they did against CU. We will see how they respond to a little adversity when they go to FSU this weekend. This was definitely not a good outing for the Cowboys.
 
Truth is we aren't a top 25 team but nobody in the mwc is a top 25 team. Conference is really down this year. SDSU will make the NCAA . CSU might make it because of their rpi being so freaking high. Wyoming will probably need to win the MWC tournament . We are probably NIT bound honestly.

And we didn't hit a single three in the second half. I knew our shooting had to cool off after a blistering 4/10 from deep in the 1st half (I say that with all the sarcasm I can muster).
 
Refs weren't to blame.

No free throws is to blame
Having Nance 20 ft from hoop is to blame
Some terrible turn overs is to blame
No offense is to blame
SDSU defense is to blame

We lost to a good team. Same team who beat #7 ranked Utah. A loss to SJSU would be catastrophic. This is simply a loss to a team in the top tier of a pretty close conference.

I've said it before, and stand by it. SDSU is the ONLY team who can get an at large bid if they don't win the tourney. Lots of street cred. UW has to take care of business @ tourney win or loss tonight.

We didn't play bad. We were just out played. There is a difference. Playing bad is losing to 0-15 FAMU by 10 ( or any margin, really). We played probably our toughest opponent this year. They are good, you know? Did lose to Zona by one. Cinci, not a bad team either got them in OT at home. Both those games could've gone either way. Had they, your looking at a 14-2 top ranked SDSU instead of unranked "questionable" SDSU. Numbers don't matter. The fact is we are about even talent wise with these guys, and it was that 8-0 run in the second half that killed us. Had that not happened we win this game. They just went 3/3 on three straight possession. The way we played out past that run, we would've won this game by one.
It's a tough loss, but it's not a bad loss.
 
If you have forgotten....We are still 15-3.

Rather lose to sdsu than fresnecks this weekend. Shyatt will dial it in. Yes, this one stings, but tonight wasn't our night. We will be ok.
 
May it be noted our bench did not do shit for us either save for a few rebounds. It is still a lingering problem.
 
let's not kid ourselves. The mountain west conference is up for grabs. There isn't 1 dominant team. Wyoming could win the tourney as easy as anyone. Likewise, they could get bounced in the first round.

some of you are sounding like we just lost to the natrona high school, and the world is over.
