I hear it's been confirmed that Pete Thomas is coming in after graduation.
I realize from the stats below that he was sacked a bunch of times, but it's obvious from his film that he's not reading defenders. He's just trying to execute the play and looks for his receivers instead of reading the safeties and linebackers after the snap. The results are late decisions, batted balls, and interceptions.
Reading defenders after the snap on your drops is where you get the great TD to INT ratio, and of course, knowing your playbook and your personnel so you can make the correct decision on most every play.
He may be able to get the backup spot, but Aaron Young knows football and his position, and is a far better passer. Thomas will never win the job. Not a bad idea by the coaches though to have a backup with at least the experience factor going for him.
