2015 in review: The first thing you notice about Arnold: his size and his footwork. At least that’s what stuck out to coach Dave Shrader. And once Arnold made a commitment to focus on the finer details and to raise his effort level, he became a force on both sides of the ball. He plays offensive tackle and a bit of guard, capable of pulling and maneuvering in space, his coach says. Arnold gets snaps on the defensive line as well. “He’s one that would go every rep if you’d let him,” Shrader said. “He’s a bulldozer.” Arnold helped Gretna to a 7-4 record and an appearance in the state quarterfinals. The Dragons lost 15-13 to Aurora.

2016 outlook: Arnold’s individual goals aren’t limited to his in-the-trenches battles against his Nebraska peers. He’s thinking about playing college ball. With an eye on college and at the urging of his coach, Arnold has made it a point to take a more disciplined approach this offseason. His teammates have helped, too. They decided to organize 6:30 a.m. workouts over the past few months. “I wake up earlier in the summer than I do during the school year,” Arnold cracked. But that’s not a bad thing. “We’re trying to create a winning environment in the weight room, too.” Scholarship offers have trickled in over the past few months, only intensifying his passion. He was a standout at two separate camps in Lincoln and performed well at a Rivals camp in Kansas City. “I started to taste more success and realize how close I was to achieving my goals,” he said. “I want to give my all this senior season. Just be prepared as possible.”

I wonder if there will be anymore really good gets. We had 38 visitors for the AFA game, we've won the Front Range championship, and we definitely look like we have a bright future.

I'm betting Gordie Haug is really busy right now. :D

Thirty-eight kids taking in the WYO-AFA game. If that game can't get a recruit excited about the direction of the program and atmosphere, I don't know what would. Here's a pic taken by a recruit's Dad prior to the game:

This has been a big 9 day stretch for Cowboy football, starting with the Border War beat down.

Bobo doesn't recruit Colorado very hard, which begs the question, why the hell is Marty your DC if you're not going to focus on Colorado as your prime recruiting footprint?

You would think we'll have our pick of Colorado kids this year after beating CSU and AFA.

It seems like we're getting a lot of momentum in Nebraska as well.

This year has potential to be Bohl's best class yet at Wyoming.

I'm all for getting as many Nebraska kids as possible, whether scholarship or walk-on. While in the land of corn for the Nebraska game, I saw some stat of NFL players by state and Nebraska has a disproportionately high amount of kids in the NFL. I was surprised and impressed. Believe it or not, there's a lot of talent in Nebraska.

This looks like a really good get. Patrick seems to be generating a ton of buzz. Surprised the huskers weren't in on him...

He hasn't signed the papers yet, so it could still happen. :(

Hopefully not, though. If Nebraska keeps winning, they'll hopefully focus on higher rated recruits.

Was Arnold the one saying he was waiting on a Nebraska offer?

Is Raeshawn Roland a silent commit?

His twitter page certainly looks like he's leaning towards Wyoming.

What I remember seeing is that he took the ACT on October 1 and was just waiting on test scores before he committed.

Wyoming is starting to form some vintage lines. That's really big news. These new O-lines look like the 90's ones that imposed their will on teams more. There isn't a winning team in football that doesn't have a monster O-line. You just can't win without one.

amazing what winning does for recruiting. Had those 38 kids saw us trucked, it no doubt has an impact. I was at the Cal Poly game a few years ago. I know of one of the recruits at that game. He left with not much hope.

HUGE win on Saturday. That win was bigger to me than CSU. Not by a lot, but Air Force just came off a huge win over Navy and were even getting Top 25 votes.

This is a huge get for the Pokes. As a couple people have mentioned, having a dominant offensive line is the cornerstone of a successful team. Look at teams like Wisconsin and Alabama, they consistently have O-Lines where in the 2 deep they have guys that will all play in the NFL. Arnold looks to be a guy that can play either guard or tackle with his size right now. I can't wait to see what this staff does with a guy like this.

Also yesterday's win, and the game day atmosphere will have a huge effect on recruits. Seeing a nearly sold out stadium against a conference rival, and Wyoming getting the win was electric. One has to imagine that has more of an impact on selling kids on a program, specifically the program Bohl wants to build, than 30 uniform combos. Yesterday was an important game and the Pokes delivered. Still pumped about it!
