Only one game matters right now

And it is the game coming up this weekend against New Mexico. I stayed up until 5am trying to watch the game over FaceTime. I can't say enough about the team to come back from a demoralizing loss. With that being said we know that this team can be suspect to inferior teams, but I have a feeling Wyoming is going to come out on all cylinders against New Mexico.

Brian Hill breaks his own record on a long TD run in the first half..only 113 yards left for that.

What a game by the defense yesterday. Down guys and they didn't quit. I hope Appleby isn't injured too bad and can comeback. What a showing by Malauala (sp) to dress after halftime even though he was hurt. The Defense was embarrassed last year by New Mexico and will look for revenge.

We will finally see a complete game by the team from buzzer to buzzer. Let's get excited for this game and can't wait to watch it.

We should be able to move the ball at will against there defense and we should be able to load the box to stop the run.

I like the pokes in this game but it will be senior night and that can bring out the best in your opponent

They said "torn MCL," so I don't think there's any way he plays against Lobos, unfortunately. Depending on severity and when our bowl game is, I'd say there's probably an okay chance he plays one more game this season, however (goalie on my soccer team was out only 5 weeks with MCL tear, and he obviously didn't have a full time training staff helping him recover).

I really hope Cowboys get their asses in gear for Saturday and show no mercy to New Mexico. Defense needs to fly to the ball, and offensive line needs to punish, punish, punish, so Hill can break his record by half time.

Was encouraged by the play of Shiloh Windsor. As a true freshman, he is coming along nicely. Too bad we've had so many injuries along the Dline this year and had to pull off his redshirt. Losing Appleby hurts and takes away one of our only upperclassman Dlineman. But Ghaifan, Cain, Nela, Prosser, etc are playing well.

I have been very impressed with Prosser. He looks a lot like Granderson last season. Imagine if he had an offseason like Carl did... they could be a scary duo...

Yeah. Let's just hope the remaining d-linemen do okay going forward. Being down 2 key players for the rest of the season, not going to help.

I looked before the UNLV game, so things could have changed after that, but I think at that point we were around #38 against the run and #90ish against the pass. They were #1 rushing O and #128 (out of 128) in passing

Most QBs can shred the Poke secondary, given the time, so being #128 doesn't matter. It's the defensive rush that saves any hope for the Poke pass defense. Also, one reason to be #128 passing is that you don't need to. You can run the ball at will. Years and years ago Montana was #1 in pass defensive yardage. That was because nobody bothered to pass against them - they ran over them easily.

I don't know how many of you guys watched the sheep-UNM game last night, but the sheep ran all over New Mexico. I think Brian Hill can have another huge game here, but we can't get into a track meet like we did at UNLV. My season tickets are right behind the visiting bench in the War and you could tell yesterday that the guys like Pumphrey and Penny were getting upset that they weren't on the field. Owning the time of possession is going to be key against New Mexico. Keep Gipson and Co off the field and it's gonna help us out a ton.
Losing Appleby hurts a lot, but the d-lineman in the 2 deep rotation have all stepped up and developed quite a bit since game 1.

That's true, and I agree about our rush possibly being an issue, especially with Chase out now too. I'm just saying, they don't bother to throw it hardly at all. AFA throws more than them. I just like our chances of slowing their run game and the one game I watched their QB didn't look good at all

Not just Appleby; Milo Hall and Malualu as well. We were already thin at d-line. It's getting down right scary now.

No matter what happens, this has been a wildly successful season. Just hope we can pull another one or two or three out of our ass.

It's all heart now, Cowboys!!!

I like the way we match up with UNM. They have one qb that's a great runner that can't throw the ball at all, and another qb that has an average arm but can't hardly run it.

Their offensive scheme is closer to AFA than it is EMU or UNLV.

I think we'll beat UNM.

Good thing N.M. doesn't run a spread offense. They run a triple option-style offense. We defend that very well, imo. Or at least we shut down Air Force's

UNM runs their's from the pistol/spread though.

Not a traditional option. I watched their entire game. A lot of spread offense look and feel. That was my point. Their option has a lot of spread option feel to it. That is all I was saying.
