nightmare scenario....

I am not sure going 6-6 and is a nightmare scenario. They are increasing the NIL from $2M to $7M so if Sawvel is let go that number more than likely drops with buyouts, now that number dropping is also going to effect the other sports, such as Wrestling and MBB. I would rather keep Sawvel as a coach at 6-6 then set back NIL 2-3 years, unless some big donor comes along.

Sawvel was stuck with the "talent" year 1 and could do nothing about it. He listened to Bohl about Evan and we rode that roller coaster. Wicks had 36 hours to create a roster; both coaches were not left ideal situations.

Ezell is the only coach that was given a really good roster and has failed to recruit to make up for Fertig graduating.

I just have this feeling that we're going to the Hawaii Bowl.
If we do get to 6-6 it does seem like Hawaii is the bowl bad teams get sent to.

Although if we were somehow 5 game winners in conference we could be in a stateside spot simply because we have proven to attend bowl games.

If Sawvel is retained we should get some new assistant coaches:

Guys I would let go:
Tripodi
Bouknight (see Durr)
Bohl no longer coaching LBs. He can be the DC but should not be a position coach and the assistant LB coach should not be his friend.

A little dig here from Sawful...

“There’s a lot of people that want to give pats on the back after the Air Force game, but these are the same people that were wanting to shoot arrows at everybody four weeks before it,” Sawvel said. “Take the people in the building, and listen to people in the building. Let’s just focus and concentrate on the people in the building.”

No way! Fans were negative after a blowout loss to our conference rival, a nail biter against a bad FCS team, and a beat down loss to a MAC school? And now they are more positive after a couple of good wins? Who would have thought?!?!

Fans should always be positive. Remember, this is little league where any criticism runs the risk of hurting the players developing sense of self and self confidence. Coaches are largely out there donating their time for the good of the youth and the game. The fans need to stay positive so the program can move in a positive direction!

Sarcasm aside, I’ll never understand this mindset. Part of what fans do is hold the program, coaches, and players accountable for results on the field. This is more true now than ever since they are getting paid as professional athletes.

Josh Allen in his post game interview plugged OC Taylor and the job he is doing with the Cowboys. I am not a fan of Bohl Jr. so I hope he is gone if Sawvel ( as is almost a certainty) is not left go until after the 2027 season.

This one is far more innocuous than the CB "little league" comment (which I actually loved....I kind of like it when coaches show something besides standard coach-speak).

Who is he addressing this to? “Take the people in the building, and listen to people in the building. Let’s just focus and concentrate on the people in the building.” If he's saying that he told this to his players....I think I would say the same thing if I were in his position. It doesn't even make sense in any other context.

What a douche.

That is fine SAWFUL so go F yourself--I will keep my $$ & Support in my building as well.

BTW--If not for the AFA QB injury, Wyoming does not win that game!! The Pokes will get hammered on Saturday night at UNLV.

I didn't mind the "focus on the guys in the building" comment. Remember two years ago he was getting death threats via email after the ASU loss.

The Little League comment really made me mad because that is a volunteer job and those coaches can cause kids to fall in love with the game or drive them away forever. I've heard from multiple people that if you were not a who's who in the donor world than Bohl would not give you the time of day. Bohl Sr will be an arrogant ass clown in my book forever after that Little League comment

Different strokes I guess.

What CB said was basically an aknowledgment that college coaches are heavily scrutinized and that a vast majority of amateur viewers assume they can manage youth baseball or dial up high-level football strageties just a well as professionals. For me, that sounded true. The fact that little league coaching is a voluntary position doesn't make it less true. Not only is it voluntary, but not everybody is equally good at it even though most "red-blooded American males" think they would be good at it. Also, part of being good at coaching little league is, as you say, causing kids to fall in love with the sport. If anything, Bohl is saying that people believe coaching little league is not important and can be done by anybody...but, in fact, it matters who is in that position.

Wanted to add...that effect you are describing about focus on donors is never going to go away. Maybe people can do better or worse at making the non-donors feel involved but if you are doing your job right in college athletics nowadays...the donors matter way more than the non-donors.

He doesn't have to be a cunt to the common folk. Sawvel is excited to meet all fans, I could never climb the pedestal to even get a handshake from Bohl.

If they let Sawvel go I hope we purge away from any Bohl appointee's so he is stuck being a common fan and not working Burman like a Muppet
