N is for Knowledge

50/50 will be impossible. We have sold 2500 more tickets than last year right? Nebraska has a 5kticket allotment right? There will be no single game tickets right? so assuming Nebraska fans are holding all of the new 2.5k season tickets (highly unlikely) the total should be 7-8k Nebraska fans at the game.

You could add in Wyoming fans who will sell their tickets and Wyoming students who will be wearing red, but will that add another 10k fans? I doubt it.

Worse case scenario there will be 11k fans wearing red, but I would predict closer to 7k or 8k.

Yeah, I don't give a crap how many come to town. I don't give a crap if they think they are going to fill the stadium. I want those cowboys to be competitive and if we don't win, i want those husker fans to think that it won't be such a cake walk when we travel to flatland shithole.

Also, are the huskers really one of the top 5 teams of all time?

I'd love nothing more than to send the dickheads back to Lincoln with an L. I think that it would cement D.C. as our coach for quite a few more years and get the Pokes back into a conference contender.

Uh that's a big NO ghost rider. Tom Osborne might be one of the top 5 coach's of all time but not the program. It can't be that much easier to recruit in Beautiful Nebraska (sarcasm meter <-------------|--->) than it is here.

They may not be, but they can at least toss their hat in the ring. It's tough to narrow it down to the top 5 programs all time, but if you're ranking top 10 all-time programs in terms of prestige who is it? In no particular order

USC
Notre Dame
Oklahoma
Alabama
Texas
Ohio St.
Michigan
Florida
FSU
Miami
Penn St.
LSU
Nebraska would have an argument with most any of this group.

Wyoming coulda been on that list had not been for the Black 14 Incident in the late 1960s.

I disagree. I think too many Wyoming fans use that as a crutch to make up for the numerous poor decisions that have been made since then. It would make sense if our program completely tanked and never was good again after the Black 14 but Wyoming has experienced a lot of success since then. Fiesta Bowl in the 70's, a good run from most of the 80's through the end of the 90's.

We suck right now because we failed to invest in our program in the mid-late 90's to capitalize on our success. Wyoming and TCU were pretty much equals in 1998. TCU decided they wanted to become a football power and did what it took. Wyoming decided business as usual would get things done.

What did we invest in our football program from the end of the final construction of War Memorial Stadium until the building of the RAC? Virtually nothing.

Bull! Had the Black 14 not happened, we woulda won at least one, maybe two, National Champoionships long before Roach became coach!!!!! We woulda been Boise LONG before Boise.

Had the Black 14 not happened maybe we have another couple of good years and gone to some more BCS Bowls before they were called BCS bowls. But to suggest that one incident nearly 50 years ago has decided the whole fate of Wyoming football even in the present day isn't right. That doesn't do the incompetence that has been the UW administration justice.

bullsh!t......calpoke is right here. Quit using the Black 14 excuse as a crutch. Wyoming might have been a tad better, but this national title and BCS bowl talk is beyond ludicrous.

Wyoming football was on a tremendous roll at the time of the Black 14 incident. Not sure of any NCs, but Wyoming football was well known nationally. Hard to say how much it set us back, but it was a bunch.

Plus we were nationally ranked at # 5 at one point! One year during the 60's, Wyoming and Oklahoma were the ONLY undefeated teams in the country!

An incident 50 years ago certainly doesn't and shouldn't affect our program right now. Our program was set back by numerous coaches, failure to invest, and failure of forward thinking. The current group gets it and is investing in Wyoming athletics.. but we're now playing catch-up to the "who's who" of the MWC, departed and present. Even SMU, who had their program stripped down to nothing is beginning to recover from the death penalty, which is the worst thing that could happen to an athletics program.

All I can say is, at lest we didn't have it like SMU!
