I've looked into DraftKings, it seems like the money you buy in with is just for how much you get back. Everyone then has the same "salary cap" and all the players are worth different amounts. Adrian Peterson might be $7500 where someone like Luke McCown is $500. Then it seems like you're right about basically so many fantasy points gets you a dollar. And DraftKings has games down to $3 buy in. Up to hundreds.BeaverPoke said:phxpoke said:It just feels like it has scam written all over it!
I don't know if it is a scam. I think it's kinda legit.
I think it's essentially Fantasy Football and gambling combined.
Not sure but I think it works like this:
Pay X amount of dollars. Let's say 20.
Draft your team with that 20.
Aaron Rodgers costs 5 bucks or something. Obviously more than Tyrod Taylor or Ryan Tannehill.
Buy your WR's. Demaryius Thomas and Calvin Johnson would cost more than Robert Herron or somebody else low level.
Same thing with your RBs and TE's etc.
Each player earns you money with their fantasy points.
All your players have a good day, you spent 20 bucks drafting, win 50 bucks via their production, and have a net gain of 30 bucks.
I don't know if that is how it actually works, just what I have gathered from the sports radio guys here in Oregon.
The radio guys (both local and national) talk about it. The local guys talk about how they did over the weekend.
WilyWapiti said:The thing with all of these sites is that they take a pretty hefty percentage of every buy-in right off the top.
Typically they take 10-20% off the top of every tournament, so you have to win at a pretty spectacular rate just to beat the vig.
