Jeff Tedford to Wyoming?

I don't know, the students tried to pick a fight with our own players DURING a game. Sounds passionate. The number of passionate fans may be small, but how many of us cut our wrists yearly due to Wyoming football. For better or worse, mostly worse, I do. We invaded Vegas and ABQ twice for shitty bowl games. We had an awesome crowd at AF this year including me, my fiance, and my dad. We drew a damn good croud for CSU, and of course the program repays them by shitting a goose egg. The casual wyomingite/alum could be more passionate, but they havent had much to be passionate about. WE all think that's bullshit, but most people are sheep and only get behind winners. True in almost any fanbase in America to greater or lesser extents, usually to scale with population and culture. The BOT? Well yeah they're a bunch of jack offs I think we've established that, and as I said in another thread: The BOT's is cheaper than a 80 year old man at the country kitchen buffet arguing about his AARP discount for his $6 meal.

That is true that while the students overall might not be near as passionate as us on here, those of us students that are...we go hard. I almost got in a fight at a VOLLEYBALL game last year.

Fuck let's not kid ourselves people, there are passionate fans at every school. I know some die hard BYU fans. They are total goobers and of course...BYU students...but they are crazy passionate.
We have some passionate fans sure, but everyone does. Doesn't mean our student fans are more passionate than others.
We don't have jack shit for passionate students.

Exactly, those of us (I'm not sure you fit into this Beav) that care enough to go to most of the games, will be there, its the same group that stuck out the cold in the Hawaii game that was at the girls first game against who cares st. It's just a fairly small group of us that are that way

Believe or not guys the student section when I was at UW during the end of the Glenn years totally sucked compared to the one I stood in at the CSU game this year. Size-wise. Sad I know.

I want the Wyo basketball student section to be the most intimidating in the MWC.
And that is probably more unrealistic than winning the MWC in hoops this season.

I agree 100%. I was in school during the Glenn era and the student section the past 3 years has been much better.

I believe the new renovations will put the students closer to the floor and create a more intimidating environment.

THIS. Both sports, I want to be the place where teams absolutely hate to come, even on a down year people not wanting to come to the Dome of Doom. Which, although early, has been more similar to a church this year at times

Basketball games are absolutely pathetic, and football is good at the beginning of the year, but was terrible as the season went.

I think it's fair to say Tedford + Cal was a relationship that had run its course by the time he was done. 10 years is a long time in any coaching job. I believe his constant battle with the admin at Cal to upgrade their facilities took its toll on him and his relationship with them (just reading between lines a bit on that). If there's anything we have a commitment to from our athletic department it's facilities so I hope that aspect of our job is attractive to Tedford.


If this deal gets done I think a lot of Burman haters calm down.

I can understand some of those sentiments. Sorta surprised by the crazy reactions in this thread.....you would think Tedford is Urban Meyer or something. Realistically, Tedford could turn out to be another Norm Chow just as much as he could be a great coach. This is one coach many people felt the game passed him. Only time will tell, but he's a wildcard hire IMO. Could go really good or really bad.

But I agree that if UW wants him, they need to move fast. If DeRuyter leaves Fresno, Tedford becomes #1 candidate there....but I'm still holding onto my pipe dream of Kiffin getting the Fresno job.

Tedford was a very successful head coach in the Pac12 for an extended period of time. Norm Chow bounced around to numerous places and had no head coaching experience.

Tedford's background is nothing like Chow. Tedford had a long successful tenure as a HC in the PAC. Chow was much holder and had never been a HC at any level.

Tedford is 82-57 in 11 years at Cal

Chow is 3-20 in 3 years at Hawaii

There is no comparison!

Tedford is the most accomplished coach we could hope to get.

I think Tedford is a pretty interesting candidate. I just wonder how he and his family would adjust going from Cali to Laramie. If that is not an issue he might be the guy to straighten that mess out.
