Way to fuck up and epitomize the 'good enough' mentality Burman. This was arguably the most important hire in the history of Wyoming Athletics, considering the crossroads we and all of college sports are at, and you went out and got Joe Glenn. Good luck Coach Bohl, but I'm done investing until I see results. Go Pokes.

You know the old saying "play the hand you are dealt." Well, I am fine with this hire. I was ecstatic at DC's hire years ago. That didnt pan out. Why not give this guy a whirl. I still think I would have preferred Tedford, but let's be honest... NDSU would steamroll us this year. So I cant say this is a step "down" when our team is worse. I think he knows how to recruit. He is used to the weather. Seems like he has his head on straight and more than anything...he knows how to win.

Jesus people. Really? Most people think Wyoming just got a major steal. Hell some people are laughing at Bohl because he's going "backwards" in their opinion. This is a big get.
Yes of course its not a given he'll be great, but you can't find a better fit for Wyoming IMO.

Absolutely correct. Tedford would have been more if a stretch for me. Bohl has had his success recruiting to a school that is very similar to Wyoming. Recruiting at the FBS level will be different for him an that will be the key. But I have a very good feeling. I'm very excited that it's Bohl!!! Tedford seemed more risky. I still can't stand burman and the BOT

With all of this Bohl talk, lets not forget that the bigger issue now is landing a good defensive coord.
I am still going to support the hell out of the pokes. I think Burman is an idiot, but i am still going to Oregon next year and laramie a few times. I want him coming to UW knowing he has the support of the state and the best fans in the world. Pack the frickin stadium and let's see what he can do.

+1 That's what I've been saying. For Tedford, what is done in California is hardly easy to replicate in Wyoming. That's just like the Hawaii fans who thought Norm Chow would replicate his vast USC success at Hawaii. Not that simple. Bohl on the other hand knows how to win in a place similar to Laramie.Dutchnation said:

You can look up my posts....since October I've been saying Bohl is the best FIT. Great hire by Burman. Even if Bohl doesn't pan out, Burman made this shit happen.

I'd be interested what base set offense we run next year. We have a ton of receivers and don't have the linemen for a power run team. Although, Wick could be a good feature back.

And this ^^^ is why I think people should be patient with Bohl. He sooooo does not have the roster he had at NDSU. Two completely different philosophies. Wyoming doesn't have the physicality in the trenches that NDSU has. That will take time and recruiting.OrediggerPoke said:

St. about talking to his HC that is a huge issue and I am surprised that Tom Burman would contact a coach without getting permission first from his AD! I am surprised that you would say that Tedford is more a of stretch for you when he has recruited at a higher level than Wyoming and has a ton of great contacts for some of the best talent possible that we would find in California. Bohl on the other hand has never had to recruit at the level that Wyoming plays at as a HC and so he is going to have to up his recruiting IMMEDIATELY, can he do this? That is more of a stretch than Tedford in my book. Yes, Bohl has had to recruit to a place very similar to Laramie, but he was also going after lesser talent. I am much less sure about Bohl than I am about Tedford.......I am still hoping that these guys aren't right. I haven't heard anything from Vorel as yet and his info I trust more.
