You realize if we fire DC right now, Wyoming will never get a good coach?
And btw, what a fucking stupid idea you have to fire a coach right now after winning a game against New Mexico. Notice I said WINNING not LOSING.
Wyoming is 4-2 and 2-0 in conference play. Not to mention 3-0 at the War. I think they went 2-4 last season.
Wyoming is in first place in the Mtn Division. So if the MWC title game was next weekend, Wyoming would be playing in it.
Think about that for a minute.
So yeah, if we fire DC now in the middle of a season, what coach that's worth a shit, would come to Wyoming?

Oh and 4-0 against CSU. Very likely to be 5-0 in a week. (and 27-30 overall)

Hi, my name is BeaverPoke, and I have the most unrealistic expectations for Wyoming athletics year in and year out. I expect things that are incredibly unrealistic from our teams. So you really shouldn't be talking shit about MY potential or expectations, or hopes.

I will say this to backup BP's point....

Look at Hawaii. Only a few years ago (2011) Hawaii went 6-7. It wasn't great, but surely not awful. Hawaii fired its coach, because the UH fans didn't want "chicken shit" they wanted championships!!!! :roll: As the old cliche goes, be careful what you wish for. Fans forced out McMackin, and Hawaii is 3-15 since. DC is far from perfect, but again.....be careful what you wish for. DC could leave UW for whatever reason and there is no guarantee the following hire would a good one. Say what you will.....but the man knows offense. Enjoy what's going on. Wyoming is a threat to go to a bowl every year.....they may not be championship caliber, but its much better than what has been going on in Laramie. Nobody is "settling" for anything.....they'd just rather enjoy this instead of bitching. Don't take what's happening for granted.
 
Dave Christensen is the best coach we've had since Joe Tiller. .

If we go to a bowl this year, he's a top 5 Wyoming HC in history.

Name another Wyoming HC to go 5-0 vs CSU...

We havent done 5-0 yet (but I hope we will :cool: )..
and it might be that DC is lucky in that regard...
during the past four years CSU has won 4, 3, 3, 3, and they have currently only won 2.
name the last time CSU has had five seasons in a row in which they haven't won 15 games.

So aside from kinkaid, pretty good company. And you show you have zero knowledge of college football... make that front range football. CSU HAS ALWAYS SUCKED except for when they had a coach named Sonny.

Alabama? How about we compete on the same level as Boise State or (ick) BYU*? How about we do that?

If we can't expect to compete at that level, what's the point of having an FBS program?

I didnt ask you to tell me when CSU has NOT sucked. As far as most of us are concerned, they have ALWAYS sucked. As you point out-in living memory (with the exception of that damned Sonny Lubeck) they have always proved it. But I asked you to find a comparable period of time when they sucked this much ( it was 1986-1989) and in response to my question, you called me an idiot..

to make matters worse, your response only reinforced my point boy. Crowing that DC has beaten CSU repeatedly is not actually crowing about much...especially since the sheep haven't been this damn poor in 25 years. So don't be pumping us full of bad gas. DC hasn't got much to show for these past 5 years and many millions of dollars. Each week I am hopeful we will see something better-some sign we've turned the corner-
but I havent
and till I do- DC<Glenn<Tiller=she's headed the wrong direction
 
I understand that DC is not Nick Saban but we could do a lot worse here in Laramie. No matter what you want to say about DC we have one of the most prolific offenses in the country. We currently sit in the top 30 in total yards, passing, rushing and and receiving (Alabama is not even in the top 30 in total offense and Utah State is the only MW team above Wyoming in total offense). I am not sure many FBS teams can say that.

We all bitch about our defense but overall that is not on DC (yes you can say he is the head coach so it is on him) but defense overall is run by Chris Tormey and I am sorry the defensive side of the ball is where we have problems. So instead on being on DC's butt all of he time look into the team a little further and place blame where it should be placed.

We have a good team right now at 7220 so sit back and enjoy it as it does not happen often!!!
 
We have a good offense, we have a great qb, we have great fans-and we should shellac the sheep next week. Yeah, lots to be thankful for-and I think we all are.

We'll all just have to agree to disagree on the leadership of this team and agree to keep from being disagreeable.

Who do you think recruited this great QB and offense?

Were you more of a Dax Crum, Chris Stutzriem, Karsten Sween type of guy?

I don't know about you, but I'd rather be mediocre and gain 500 yards of offense then to be mediocre and struggle to get 5 first downs in a game like we used to with Glenn. Those games were frustrating AND boring....not just frustrating.

Everyone always complains and everyone always has this fantasy that hiring someone else will magically make us a prestigious program. It doesn't happen that way. What if we hired a new Koenning?? Ahhhhhhhh!

Side note: Joe Tiller only finished above 5th in the conference TWICE in 6 years, did you know that? He got to 1 bowl game and he lost it by 35 points. He then goes to Purdue and takes them to 10 bowls in 12 years. His success Laramie has been inflated in our minds because he did well in Purdue.

This grass is always greener on the other side attitude some of us have is sad. It's sad because you will never be satisfied. The chances of Wyoming becoming a BYU or Boise State are low, very low. Just because Boise State did it and did it quickly, doesn't mean anyone else that just expect it to happen. Think of the dozens of teams in our shoes, shit, 80% of college football teams are in our shoes. It doesn't matter who our coach is. Laramie is THE hardest place to recruit in the country, and we don't bring in a ton of fans who live for the game (and the ones that do show up get pissed off when you win your Homecoming game, what kind of coach and/or player wants to play for fans that don't support you when you win?)

You can have these elaborate dreams of college football super stardome if you want and you can bitch about being #1 in our division if you want but, mark my words...seriously, write them down or something...you will NEVER be happy with Wyoming football. You will spend your life throwing things on Saturday afternoons, having near heart attacks because someone missed a tackle and be depressed all day on Sunday.

I had a great weekend, Wyoming won!
