Fire Burman

Of course they were good. I'd argue even great. But they had a pretty level playing field with the conference back then, at least compared to now. And for whatever reasons, it seems like Wyoming is perceived far differently now than it was 20 years ago.
Ain't that the truth!

Even in the weaker MWC, our football team will be less than .500. Sawful is a horrible HC (or in his own terms, horse shit) and seems incapable of learning from his mistakes. Just look at the quarterback situation two years in a row. Playing to stall out the games, instead of trying to win is what really pissed me off. A quitter’s mentality resonates through the whole team. His hiring and albatross contract are on TB’s watch and should be a fireable offense.

That fucking performance at the end of the first half in Boulder last season pissed me off sooooo much. We literally could have won that game.

Boy howdy. Big reason why there still aren't any fans in the seats.
They're also charging 20 dollars a seat to get in the door. Fresno State, arguably a better team with a far larger town of people who would be paying for tickets is charging 13 from what I can tell. When you want to charge alot you better be good or in a big enough town that enough people will stomach the price, you can't fill 11k seats for sub .500 conference records at 20 bucks a pop on a Tuesday night and expect massive crowds. Bring that down to 10 bucks and you'll have fuller stands, and I wouldn't rule out average attendance jumping from ~3k to ~6k, which would be the same amount of revenue coming in.

I agree man. Shit, I paid $35 per ticket for the Portland game and that was the cheapest I found.

What's ridiculous is that you can go watch the hottest team in the nation right now, #23 Miami(OH) against BGSU next Friday for 18 bucks. A 14-10(5-6) BG as well who aint a joke of a team. Millett also only holds about half of what the AA does (6400) and is in a town not far off Laramie's population (22k), with Cincinnati within an hour away. I'm glad you got to see a win but the athletic department needs to realize they can't suck and charge up the wall for tickets.

Yeah man, I agree and it pisses me off. I don’t mind making the 5 hour trip for football games and I’m a season ticket holder, but we get charged almost NFL level concession prices. 4$ for a bottle of water lol.

I used to go to a lot more basketball games, but I’m not gonna spend that kind of money bringing my wife and 3 kids too often. I used to save all my old ticket stubs since I was a kid. I have quite a few. It would nice to see prices comparable like that to get some butts in the seats.

NIL money available will be as big of a factor as Coaches salary. Why would you take a gig that pays well knowing you'll fail due to NIL?

He has no vision. Never has. And that is (should be) a death sentence for any athletic director. You gotta have vision, and then you gotta get busy.
Give the guy a break. He can clearly see his paycheck and retirement portfolio. His vision of the future shines brightly showing he is taking care of himself. His long tenure at Wyoming shows how deeply affectionate he is with the University and sleepy little Laramie when he could have been enjoying the excitement of continuing activities in downtown Portland.

Burman as the AD is like a town in Wyoming where if a stop sign that has existed for over 80 years is replaced with a stoplight because hourly traffic increased from 30 vehicles per hour to 40 during tourist season where WyDOT considers that volume as unsafe without a change to modernization for traffic flow.

I think he is doing a wonder (full of ….) job. 😝

He would have been fired at Portland State. There have been roughly 4 other people in that role since he left. UW is the only school in America that would have allowed this situation to go on for this long.
