At least they got rid of CowherdMrTitleist said:Unless they lay off Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless they are doing a disservice to everyone.
Fox Sports 1 and 2 are quickly becoming my new favorite channels. Baseball playoffs, college football, and UEFA champions league soccer, and their sports center type shows are pretty good as well. Unfortunately I cut the cord and am with Sling which doesn't carry it, so I need to use my parents direcTV account for Fox Sports Go access lolwyokoke said:Hopefully this signals a shift away from ESPN as the dominant sports media
I agree, and just regular fox sports has been my favorite for college football for a while now. I also have HBO GO so even though it will likely be more NBA related I'm really looking forward to Simmons new show, he is definitely my favorite sports media guycali2wyo said:Fox Sports 1 and 2 are quickly becoming my new favorite channels. I think he's great too. He and Jalen Rose worked great together for NBA broadcasts, and I loved reading his pieces on grantland. I still don't understand how ESPN justified severing ties with him while still keeping Stephen a Smith, which is part of the reason why I don't feel so bad about this news hahawyokoke said:I agree, and just regular fox sports has been my favorite for college football for a while now. Plus, the one thing ESPN really has going for them, the 30 for 30 series, came from Simmons haha. If you're a podcast guy, Jalen's Grantland podcast is one of the more entertaining things I've foundcali2wyo said:I think he's great too. MrTitleist said:Not totally true. SVPs version of SportsCenter is 1000x better than the actual SportsCenter. He's funny, he's witty, he has on a lot of really good guests.. his product is superior, much like his radio show with Russillo was.
SVP is damn good, one of the only "elite" sports media people ESPN has left. I'd put him in the same class with Cowherd, Patrick, and Simmons as the best in the biz right now. Ironically, all 4 for a different network now after all getting their start at ESPNMrTitleist said:Not totally true. SVPs version of SportsCenter is 1000x better than the actual SportsCenter. YES! the combo of cowherd then svp and russilo was a top notch line up. Not sure why all the hate on cowherd though.....other than the temp new hair style... :twocents:
It carries must-see TV, like "Monday Night Football," but comes with a high price tag, about $6 a month per subscriber, which is folded into customers' cable bills.
