CSU and Wyoming in Separate Conferences

I'm not pro-Burman but since the conference didn't say much, I'm guessing the remaining schools are meeting. They're probably working on a unified message. I wouldn't expect much until they all meet.
That is the issue in today's world. Gather a bunch of MBA's in a room (and what ever the hell Burman is), have a meeting to meet about the next meeting's meeting and never have any action completed. Looks like these clowns have nothing to prepare or to be prepared for. Otherwise their announcement would have been 2 minutes after the 6-PACK announcement. Poor leadership and Burman's nepotism have been in the dark. Now they are "preparing a statement," if they were in the know, they would have been prepared. If they weren't, the wrong people are sitting at the table.

Go get teams like Texas State, UTSA, and UTEP? Get us recruits from TX. Merge them with UNM, SJSU, Hawaii, UNLV in the south.

Wyoming, AFA, Utah State, South Dakota State, Montana State, Montana, and NoDak State in the north?

Sac State?
Cal Poly?
Uc Davis?
Tulsa?

I’m looking at eyeballs and recruiting territory.

I'm going to be in the minority here. But I don't want to be in a conference with a bunch of FCS schools. No way to the Montana and South Dakota schools. Let's keep Hawaii and maybe add New Mexico st. and Utep. We and Utah st. will be the northern most schools. If we want to play the FCS schools OOC, that would be ok. Never schedule any of the traitor schools again. I hope we can keep UNLV but I'm not holding my breath.

No one gives a rat's ass about FCS schools. I attend St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) games on a regular basis. Okay stadium, middle of campus. A quality program for FCS. Stands are half empty. I ask my daughter "how's the team this year?" Her reply is always "Don't know, no one cares, Dad." I've never seen, nor will I ever go see, an FCS game in Wisconsin. I just don't care that much and it reminds me a little of high school. Blows my mind for anyone to advocate for Wyoming stepping down. U.W. is absolutely relevant...especially in Wyoming. It's not all about Shadeur Sanders driving around his Rolls. Wyoming is one of few genuine programs left. That makes them more relevant than ever.
Advocating for Wyoming to self-relegate to FCS is such a loser, quitter mentality.

He also mentioned that the fee to go from FCS to FBS was recently increased to $5 million. Any idea why the change?
My guess is that this is simply one way to help make sure the football programs and universities that decide they want to make the jump actually have the finances to do so and are serious about the commitment.

There are probably multiple FCS schools that could make the jump up to FBS for a year or two before realizing it's not financially feasible to stay there.

As Wyoming prepares to play BYU this weekend...

Is UTEP and NMSU really better in any way than the Montana and Dakota schools?

It's always interesting to me that the power in fcs largely resides in the north but fbs is more south (I understand there's exceptions).

Your question is a good one though. Honestly I think it's hard to predict. It isn't what they are now but what could they be in fbs. Who knows, maybe bringing some of those up will be like when the wac grabbed Boise?

At this point, I'm not sure it matters that much. You're right, nmsu and utep aren't going to move the needle much either.

Honestly if we had UTEP or NMSU on the schedule before the start of the year I would have looked at those games as sure wins. MSU and NDSU I would have considered to be dangerous underdogs.
