CSU and Wyoming in Separate Conferences

Starting 2026, Wyoming and CSU will no longer be in the same conference.

I hope Air Force sticks around but I bet they join with Army and Navy now.

Wyoming and New Mexico will be the last long time conference affiliates. The front range schools now in a variety of conferences. None of this is appealing.

This conference can't get an autobid to the playoff, can it? I wouldn't if I was a A4 conference

It's pretty hard to make the argument to have this conference get an automatic bid. I wonder if this isn't a power move to get the MW to adjust to them or if they are prepping for the ACC to implode soon. That would bring Cal and Stanford back, plus add SMU/Texas State to the list maybe they have a bit of an argument. Either way, it's a sad thing to recognize the greed in College Football continues to consume my interest in the game.

111 Million for 4 schools? I can see adding Boise but SDSU is back to their mean and CSU has been terrible since Lubbick left regardless of the stadium. No one watches CSU in the Denver market. Just seems like way too much money for these schools when you can wait and see what happens with the ACC.

Same boat. Greed is killing my interest in the game. I'll just watch the NFL if I want to see greed ball.

They can’t wait and see. For PAC to remain an NCAA conference, they must have 8 members by 2026. There will be 2 more teams joining. Pure speculation - but I think UNLV and Nevada are the next two to join after waiting another year to announce for legal reasons. PAC could also try to attract the likes of Tulane and Memphis but I can’t see those schools having a huge desire to join a conference and be on a geographical island.

I've kind of thought this is way it'll go. I just hope the rest hold and don't panic.

Suds, bsu, ands csuv have wanted out forever. Don't they need at least 8?

It’s a move to leap frog the MWC in a media deal and to be strong enough to attract the 2 schools it finds the most desirable from the G5. There’s no auto attached and one is unlikely to come their way. The next MWC media deal will now likely be less than $2 million per school while the PAC will likely be around $10.

Unlv definitely.

They do. But 2 more MWC schools at this particular time costs an extra $56 million and leaves the PAC and departing schools exposed to some serious collusion legal claims. Waiting another year to announce the next 2 might avoid them (if they go with 2 more MWC schools).

Either way - it’s only a matter of time before UNLV makes its way to the PAC.

I don't see nevada joining. You may as well add cal state fullerton with the amount that Nevada is investing in football

You’re missing the Nevada politics. Nevada legislature tying UNLV’s future to Nevada.
No I'm not missing them. UNLY isn't worth the albatross that Nevada is. They could easily add AF or schools in Texas to get an equivalent market and football program.

Air Force isn’t paying that amount of money to leave the MWC for that conference and PAC unlikely to cover additional exit fees (they are covering the 4 entirely under the rumored deal). Remember, Air Force still has government checks and balances.

Longer term - I believe they Air Force will probably be in a football conference with Army and Navy but will probably have its other sports in the MWC or some other regional conference.
