That wasn't the point Lacock was making. The biggest reason Wyoming is even in the picture is because it's supposedly the in-state school. But since he's not even from Wyoming, that's not as big of a draw as other major college programs can offer him.WYCowboy said:Neither Texas Tech or Minnesota are in Canada either. Minnesota might be a little closer than Wyoming - depending on what part of Canada he is from. I doubt either place has better facilities or coaches than Wyoming. We were in the NCAA tourney this last time.
I doubt anyone knows anything about his decision, but if I were the Wyoming coaches, I wouldn't wait very long for his decision.

Exactly. We have just as nice, if not nicer facilities, we have a group of guys that believe they can win, and were coming off our best season in the last decade. There are a lot of reasons to choose Wyoming.WYCowboy said:joshvanklomp said:That wasn't the point Lacock was making. I understand what you are saying, but what can these other programs offer him that Wyoming doesn't?

A chance to play in the Big 10 or Big 12.WYCowboy said:I understand what you are saying, but what can these other programs offer him that Wyoming doesn't?
I would understand that. I haven't heard or read anything about him leaning towards a specific conference but thats a choice that is out of our control. IF he wants a high level conference, we aren't for him. If playing on a low tier Big 10/Big 12 school is better than an upper tier MWC team, than more power to him.joshvanklomp said:A chance to play in the Big 10 or Big 12.WYCowboy said:I understand what you are saying, but what can these other programs offer him that Wyoming doesn't?
For bottom of the league teams. Wyoming has more upside for him, chance at NCAA tourney play. Tech and Minnesota probably will not be competing for an NCAA berth the next couple of years.joshvanklomp said:A chance to play in the Big 10 or Big 12.WYCowboy said:I understand what you are saying, but what can these other programs offer him that Wyoming doesn't?
He may not be big man on campus, but Minnesota has a major need at PF and C. And Minnesota plays uptempo and a trapping defense, which seems to fit his game more than the systems at Wyoming and Texas Tech.Adv8RU12 said:What are his chances of being a starter at the other schools? Maybe, but maybe not.Wyolie Coyote said:For bottom of the league teams. Wyoming has more upside for him, chance at NCAA tourney play. Tech and Minnesota probably will not be competing for an NCAA berth the next couple of years.
And UNLV just landed ESPN #10, Steve Zimmerman. Can go against him also for at least a year.BeaverPoke said:Big12 just got eaten alive in the Big Dance. They may be lucky to get 4 in their next season after the shit show they had in March.
Big10 is a great conference but at Minnesota he isn't going to take the conference by storm.
Ah, but check it!
Wyoming is the reigning MWC Tourney Champs, coming off a Big Dance.
Wanna play some top talent?
Ivan Rabb just committed to Cal. Ivan Rabb is almost a guaranteed 1-and-done big guy. Cal is coming to Laramie!

Isn't the Zimmerman kid the same guy our very own Jonathan Barnes shut down in an AAU game? The name rings a bell.ItSucksToBeACSURam said:That is a HUGE get, even for them. Found this:
Jonathan Barnes (ponderosa) got some good pub from game against Stephen Zimmerman (Dream Vision)
Hawks lost 65 - 51 but Barnes had 12 points 10 rebounds 3 blocks against Zimmerman
Zimmerman only had 6 points 12 rebounds.
Said Jonathan was able to establish good position on either side of the block.
Several coaches in attendence so Jonathan will be taking off in the offer arena.
6'10 and athletic, quick learner.
He has progressed very far from just 3 years ago
Since he's from Canada, I'm guessing it's the French pronunciation.LanderPoke said:Is it pronounced like it's spelled or pronounced Boo-'shay?
